PS3 Problem...........

Bought my ps3 10 days ago, everything was great till yesterday, played it for about 3 hours straight ( sad i know:oops:) then it spat the disc out and sayed there was a problem, clean the disk and try again.

Put the disc back in and nothing, wouldnt even read the disc.
Tried a different game- nothing happened again.

SO i stuck a DVD in and it read that no bother.

What i wondered was,

Is there 2 different lasers to read games and the other for dvd's?

Could it have overheat? (sp)

Im taking it back to the shop tomorow as its within 28 days.

I had the same problem after roughly 3hours of use.

ohhhh the perfect ps3 that many seem to think? heres a case of still late and still unreliable....

just take it back to the shop 28day return is the one, and then write to ps3 complaining about how unimpressed you are waiting years for a computer equivelant to xbox (gaming wise) and now this happens blablabla theyl give you some freebies

The thing about trying to get my money back is that its been opened and they say on the reciept that they wont refund any products that are oppened??

Thats if you dont want it. But yours is faulty and you have a 12month warrenty away. Because its within 28 days also you can have your full amount back.

I wouldnt say no bother lol. They did try to give me another one but i just kicked up a bit of a stink.

Unlucky, I bought a 60GB about a week after they came out.
60Gb and Two FREE Games.
£349.99 from Game and got points on my reward card.
As I say I've not had any problems with it at all.

Only benefit of PS3 is the blu ray. I would get your money back and buy an elite.

Was playing cod4 on my ps3 tonight for around 3-4 hours then it crashed on me so i held the power button to restart it and it beeped like it does before it restarts but nothing happened after that so i got bored waiting and turned the tv and ps3 off at the wall and now it will only read dvd's, going to try it again in the morning if not its a trip to game to get another one :n:

Also is there anyway of getting saved game data of in case it needs to go back?

60gb version are more reliable than the 40gb version. Been so many problems with the 40's.

Don't get worried about it. But i have heard the 40gb are more likely to break down than the 60gb version.

There is always the warranty that comes with the ps3 when you buy it, if you have any probs they will replace it. Then when that runs out you could go for the continuous play thingy.

Took mine back to game and got them to swap the hard drive over so i would not lose anything (or so i thought) as soon as i turned it on it said i needed to format the drive and wouldnt work till i had so lost all saves i had but atleast it works :P

Not a problem fella! Its faulty so you can get a refund or replacement
