Okay, ive just been out, (had to drop of a Ps2 game at Blockbusters)
im driving back home only to find Police behind me flashing me. i pull over. greet them, I wasent speeding, i diddent have music blearing. i was wandering what ive done wrong. they asked for my license, insurance info, even my car ownership form thing. one officer then did a thourough(sp) search around my car. while the other officer Breathalised me. i passed the breath test (havent drank since sat night) so they BOTH resume searching my car for things they can pick up on. They asked where i got my Exhaust done, due to Co2 might be too much, i said Powerflow, aka Topgear Aylesbury.
Finally, do you know what they done me for? NOT HAVING FUCKING RED REFLECTORS UNDER MY FUCKING LEXUS LIGHTS. so i get a slapped wrist and i was on my way, now my car reflects more than a pensioner on a pushbike.

Thats lame, (thouch touch wood i havent been pulled over yet although most of my friends have). The police assume that when you 17/18 that if your driving anything more than a shopping trolley then it must be stolen smileys/smiley11.gif either that or they just do it so they can find the slightest bit wrong with your car, frankly i think the police should be out dealing with real crimes rather than sitting in lay bys pulling people over beacuse one sidelight is slightly dimmer than the other smileys/smiley7.gif That really pisses me of that does smileys/smiley11.gif

Yes, general Check of cars Roadworthy State. just been to my grandads as he is a mechanic, And the Police were right to tell me about the reflectors, due to the lights not having any atall. And it would fail an MOT if i diddent put them on.

well it has been said that some of the lexus lights are not 'e-approved' and so they were right to pull you over and give you a slap on the wrist. you are very lucky that they didnt give you an on the spot fine as they are correct in saying that it would fail an mot.
so, what are you going to do now? purchase some new rear lights or look into making a reflector for the rear?
by the sounds of it, it seems as if they police have been warned that a small hatchback is driving around the area possessing something illegal as they carried out a full search of the car.
all you can do is let them get on with it, say please and thankyou and let them be on their way.
This is my lights on me old car...
Can anyone tell me if there okay..??

if they are on your old car, then why does it matter!?! smileys/smiley5.gif but yes, they look legal. it would have said on the documentation that came with the lights.
Sorry i meant to put there now on me new car ha...

did they give u a reason y they were pulling u over cause thay cant just pull u over if u aint doing nowt wrong. all after market lights have to have reflectors or they wont be able to sell them.

but to be honest mate, if you did ask them why they did pull you over, they would come back with something. then you would argue and that wouldnt get you anywhere. if you have nothing to hide, then you have nothing to worry about.
like i said, if they had reports of a stolen hatchback or something, then that is more of enough reason for them to pull you over. they could make it up. you would be none the wiser.

I need some reflectors but can't find any anywhere!!!!
I am after specific ones though before any of you start coming up with ideas! I need some small round ones like the ytype you would find on kiddies bikes and before you all start saying bike shop I have tried them!!!!
I have tried about 4 different halfords, bike shops, motorbike shops and even Woolworths, Wilkinsons, Tesco, Maplins since they all have a small car or electrical/gadget section!!!!! I think I may have to resort to buying a square one and cutting it to size!!!!

But I'm not gonna nick them then now am I!?!?!? The police would definetly have a reason to stop me then! "That big man in the black car got out and nicked my red reflector while I was riding past him....." LMFBO! © sax-p

you obviously havent done anything like this before mate. there are always bikes laying around somehere. surely you could just take one off there!?!
the best place to get a bike reflector is off a bike when layed on the ground outside a newsagents or something. just drop some money, go to pick it up, give the reflector a tug and hey presto.

Unlucky that is mate. I got pulled the other night for going thorugh an amber by an unmarked car. I didnt even know amber meant stop, so its my own fault, just my look to have an unmarked car behind me. He wound me up saying 3 points and 60 pounds then a argued and he moved me onto showing the video at court. Then after all that i ending up with a proclaimer (sp) and having to show all my details at the station within 7 days. Just a caution in the end. All of this when about 200 feet away there was nutters doing all sorts of illegal manouvers in a public car park!

Police dont have to have a valid reason to stop you at all.
As like Damo said they could pull you for anything they like.
For example I was pulled over for my exhaust being slightly loud.
Must have been a bit of a bad day for them though if they breathalised you.(suppose they wanted to raise their figures for the day) I once got pulled over and I had 2 drunk girls and one drunk guy in the car with me , and I didnt even get breathalised! lol
sounds like you have experience in that damo! smileys/smiley2.gif

Producer, I think you mean Foxy ?
Amber means stop (if safe to do so, as obviously you can't stop if you are ontop of them doing 40)

Yeah probably why i got pulled then, and yes a producer lmao.
the police can do what they want when they want, end of story. ive been at the recieving end of it. on my old car i had a cossie bumper on it with cossie fog lights which were not wired up. i was stoped and the copper was adiment that i had them switched on and had been driving around all night like that. after letting him make a tit of himself infron of my mate andmy lass i pointed out that them were not wired up, his mate was pissing himself laughing and so was my mates. he tried to find something wrong with my car and couldnt. his final words were ill have you!!
and guess what..... he did, 3 months later i had a court summons for having 3 baldy tyres, said i had been stopped on a thursday morning at 2.15am, never had a colour of my car on the summons all it had was reg number and my name, to cut a long story short i went to court twice and was found Guilty even tho i was never stopped, they never had a signiture from me to say i had been stopped or even a producer. i had a good lawyer but at the end of the day they are the law and can do what they want.
moral of the story is keep quiet and let them get on with it. i was banned from driving coz of that incedent!! smileys/smiley19.gif
