Quinn are shit. When I tried to insure my Furio with them they only wanted £900. I was like, that must be too good to be true...Then found out that they wanted another £1000+ once you pass your test!!

Went with Direct Line in the end for £1600.

Which will be the same as most other companies because when you're learning you have to be supervised with someone who has a full licence. When you pass you're on your own = bigger risk.

but they could tell you that, when i asked them (few different times), will my quote go alot higher when i pass, they just say ' i dont no' or ' i cant tell you becuase of the rate change. So i ask 'well do you usually increase premiums/is it part of your policy (becuase alot of companys dont) they still cant give straight answers. Im not going with them becuase i dont want the hassle of cancelling my cover when they boost up the price (knowing them they most probably will)

I URGENTLY NEED HELP!
hopefully getting a modded vtr next week for my first car...got a quote on quinns website, in my name, parents as named drivers, and declared 4 mods and was around 1000.
On their website you can only add in 4 mods..is that the max they allow on a car? cos mine is over 4 mods.
and would an induction kit come under 'Misc engine alterations' or 'air filters'

Need reply urgently

thanks

They allow more than 4 mods :y: it will probably be cheaper if you buy the policy then contact them to say u've added mods straight after. Also the induction kit will be under 'air filters'

cos was reading another forum on here, and someone sed it will double once hes passed his test.
i did my quote on a provisional. just done one with full license for me with my parents on it for a vtr and was around 3000....so im gunna have to make my dad the main driver and me as a named driver, cos thats only 1200

And if you get caught you are fucked. If you cant afford the insurance sell your VTR and get a Furio or a Westie and mod that.

but a vtr in my own name is around 2800, a furio is still 2000...so still alot

Yeh but if anything happens to your car and your try to claim your insurance company wont pay out and it will be classed as having no insurance because yours is invalid. And if its only £2000 you are still saving £800. Thats £800 to mod your car with:y: If you have to have a VTR the best thing would be put your parents as named drivers and see if that brings it down:y:

NICK2506

but how will the insurance company know that i hadnt just borrowed the car for the day off my parents who are the main drivers....cos i will still be a named driver

Alright you could most prob get away with it. But if your driving round in a modded VTR and you get pulled by the police they are going to search for the smallest thing wrong to do you on, and in all fairness who's parents drive around in modded saxo's really?
Its up too you mate do what you want.lol

Quinn-Direct are decent and apparently pay out quickly (never had a crash 'touch wood'), but i've had a couple of problems with them over payments, they still havent taken money out for this months for some reason...

Just got my letter back yesturday from Quinn for my renewel. I currently pay 1900 on my 1.2 12V 03 Ibiza. They offered me 1023.44 but i went on their website and did a quote and it came back at £905 fully comp with winscreen cover. 1 grand different, can not be bad to that like. Was the cheapest i could find but im going to ring them up and see if i can get them down a bit more.

Thats 1 years no claims at 19yrs old with no points
