Feels good to support a team that are bringing through younger players and when they hit their prime will be unstoppable.

I support Arsenal as all of my family do so I've grown up like that. I live in London and go to home matches once every 2-3 weeks.

Would be pointless in me supporting a team like united or liverppol as I wouldn't be able to see them play.

Who do you support?

only problem is only a few of these players are english, or is it just one? Im a west ham fan and we've been brining young quality English players through for years, and to be honest by now Arsene Wenger has had enough time to bring in a big enough squad to deal with the demands of the league , Europe and domestic cups.

Dont really think you can sit there and say that Arsenal are " buying for the future " as the Arsenal board will not be happy with not winning anything for the last 3 years....

If you look in the Arsenal reserve team (who have been spanking everyone of the reserve clubs this year)..you will see most of the players bar 1 or 2 are english.

They are also in the process of signing 2 more 15 years old englishman from League 2 (will get club name in min)

When the reserve players break through to the first team it will be a lot more balanced with respect to nationality.

I'd love to see an all English top club, who wouldn't?

As to not having a squad to deal with cups and the league:

been in 2 (maybe 3?) finals in the last 3 years , one of them being the Champions league final.

No other english team has been in the Champions league final apart from Arsenal or liverpool , have they?

Dez

yea cant blame Jens for that, think William Gallas needs to look at himself as hes not captain material.. listening to radio 1 at the moment and hes getting owned. Have to agree with the criticisms tbh, also think arsenal missed a certain player today called.........

Henry! - was on of those players who could score from anywhere and make a goal out of nothing. Last two games i have watched Adbayor has been shocking.

reserve players dont allways come through into the first team though, as has been shown many times over the years.

LE ARSE have one of the best young players in the world but he only gets 20mins each week. I wonder if he had a french passport if it would be a different matter

Nope but they havent won them have they? whats that saying?? All i can say is look at utds and chelsea's bench compared to Arsenals... And the arsenal reserve team you mentioned doing sooo welll... if thats the case why arent these players breaking into the first team? face it Wenger doesnt like English players. Instead of playing these " amazing " reserve players he would rather buy in some young foreign players and put them into the first team straight away!

Explain that one?

Quote from an arsenal fan on Radio 1 " Gallas is not a captain, never has been captain, and never will be captain - glad someone sees sense

Lee_P

im not a fan of either but lets face it arsenal are a french side he just prefers foreign players to english

All i can say is . . . . . the best team won :P

But honestly it was a close game and Arsenal did play the better in the first half. Although, their goal was hand ball . . . simple as :n:

UTD FOR THE TITLE! :y:

Loosely related, but they should reinstate the "continuous run" part of penalty taking rules.

Wish I could rep you for that mate!

Ryan, without sounding like I'm having a go, what is it that gives you this absolute hatred of anything Arsenal flavoured?

Ryan
13th April 2008, 20:02
i will admit i have a passionate hatred.

1. Arsen - A person who will never admit defeat graciously, 'allways never saw it' whenever an incident involves his player kicking someone etc... Has excuses to often, and only really wants to play his foreign legion. One of the few people who if i saw walking down the street i would love to give a slap to

2. The players - most of which who are not english, have a very petulant attitude in games, lots of sly little kicks at people, kicking the ball away etc..

3. A large percentage of the fans, as per previous discussion you are one of the few fans ive ever been able to have a conversation with relating to the club where you have been able to justify your opinions with sense rather than idiocy.

Back when le arse were in the graham era i just felt that the attitude at the club was better with the way its players represented it.

I see

In all seriousness though. I like the way football has "evolved" over the last 12-15 years. It's a much faster, more tactile game now, and as much as you hat Arsenal I reckon you will have to admit they are at the forefront of the advanced game. Bar the later part of this season (actually including some of the games we threw away) they are one of the more interesting teams to watch.

I don't think Arsey has done a bad job in all the time he's been at Arsenal, but yes, I can see why you liken him to "Sir" Alex in that respect ;) (even if it's less frequent in his case)

oh the football is better than the 1-0 that chelsea play, but the players who carry them selves dont really do it well. Theres far more bad behaviour from the le arse squad than anyone else, in terms of petulance. The good football looses the glimmer when the players act how they do. I just hope that young players like walcott do not begin to behave like the rest of the squad do on that front. LOL at trying to make a sly dig at sir alex, You see far more profesionalism from him in post match interviews to arse.

Jacko

united are the perfect proffesionals.

awesome football.
profesionalism on and off the pitch is second to none.
fact.

call me bias, but its only because you're jelous.

I admit that is the case sometimes, but that can only really be put down to the immaturity of such a young squad. Given another 3 or 4 years in the prem most of the Arsenal team (if not sold on :err:) will be some of the most civilised and proffessional in the world, let alone the UK

Jacko, when was the last time you visited Old Trafford?

not just the young players who behave like it, gallas for example.

United had a very young squad back in the 'you cant win anything with kids' era, still the attitude on and off the pitch was better.
