View Full Version : xbox or mp3?

4 years ago I bought an Iriver H10 MP3 player, but smartly at the time I spent 30 odd quid on a warranty just in case.

The mp3 player broke and it doesn't look like they can fix it at Comet so I may be getting the value of the MP3 player (what I paid at the time) instead.

Now my choices are:

I can either have a brand new top of the range MP3-which I only use on the train to Uni and back-and I'm borrowing the girlfriends atm-tbh I could buy my own for a tenner...

Or I can fork out a little extra (around £40) for an XBOX 360 package with two games, would I need a warranty though?...

I'm saving up for things at the moment-alloys, rear speakers, full suspension kit... and as tempting as the 360 is (It is severly tempting!) I probably should save the dosh, as I would spend more money on games most likely...

I need a new phone but I'm only going with O2 and comets deals are rubbish-a new phone could also come with an mp3 player? perhaps...

It's a bit confusing what do you think I should do and why? :y:

Cheers everyone. Whats the difference in between the premium and elite? Obviously elite has a bigger hard drive-but whats its use?

Surely it doesn't store information on it like a PC? :panic: can you upgrade it if so?

:ponder:

Elite is Black, has a bigger HD and a HDMI port, not sure there's anything else? Waste of money imo. HD stores game saves, demos, music etc etc, but unless you plan on storing loads of music and videos on your XBOX you don't need the Elite.

free 3 year xbox warrenty! 360 all le way matey!

Only 3 year warranty on the big 3 rings of death problem, not anything else (otherwise it's 1 at the most I think, maybe less.

I won't be putting tons of music on it, I have a CD player after all... and I'll have a cheap MP3 then aswell :p

What the big 3 rings of death? :err:

Thanks for clearing that up for me. :y: I should only need to put £40 aside for a package with two games-one game which i already have for PC.. But GTA4 is being released :panic::fcuk:

I prefer the white, plus i dont need a big HDD.

xbox i would say, will get more enjoyment out of it

plus the newer xbox's apparently have a different chip in them, causing less overheating, so 3 rings is less frequent

plus 3 years warranty should solve any problems you encounter :y:

get the xbox matey

3 rred lights (ring of fire) is when the software f*cks up basically, or the motherboard or something goes a tad crazy - mine went after little use in its first year. I've used my "new" one alot more than the old one and thats been fine for nearly a year now...

They give you 3years warrenty on that as already stated so your basically covered for 3 years when you buy the xbox (unless something else goes wrong) and under most circumstances they will replace the console to keep you happy anyway :D

360 all the way
