Cheers pred. Dammit- that one on CAS is 10". I want 12" really. Looks like itll have to be an ebay job :wall:.

Well basically, on your recommendations i ordered a jbl sub and amp package deal, and a jbl 2060 amp for my comps. The ebay shop is called 'ice clearout'. NEVER buy from them.:boxing: First they said theyd lost the parcels, then they said that the amp had been discontinued?? and then just ignored my emails and phone calls. I ended up putting in a paypal claim and escalating it. i eventually got a refund. THE BASTARDS!!!

I prefer 10" to 12"! Dont be fooled by the fact that it is 2" smaller. They are just as powerfull and imo sound nicer than 12's:y:

Not needed imo, and this is coming from the person who at one point had 4x15" vibe subs in my old escort!:fcuk:

15 is ok but you need a box the size of the boot for a enclosure to get it right

10s are more punchier than a 12 but i dont like my bass like that so went for a 12 there a bit more for dance music

i know people who have said jbl isnt a reliable make, obviously i cant make the choice for you lol.. but have a look anyway

That has to be a joke, JBL not reliable, they're 1 of the best overall brands out there. Their budget gear is probably the best value for money on the market, the central range (Power range) can compete with gear well above their price tag and don't get me started on the GTi range. The GTi sub is 1 of the nicest sounding pieces of equipment ever made, i'd own a mk1 over any other sub (if I could get my hands on one). All this aside, you talk about reliability and then recommend a sub that is an in house branded piece of equipment from a company that has a poor reliability reputation.

If you want a 12" JBL in a off the shelf ported box have a look at this 1, the GTO-1264BP (http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/8335.html).

He seems to like recommending that package to people for some reason...

For starters the sub is 700w rms and the amp 170w rms bridged! That just wont work imo...
