Sorry if its been covered before I couldnt see anything.
Anyway my 106 gti is great but when i get home and press the central locking button and go inside 5-30 mins later my alarm will go off even if its not been touched.
Any suggestions as to how to stop this...and no "just lock it with the key comments" lol.
Any help would help, cheers

Could be a number of things.
Short circuit somewhere is my immediate thought, but that could be quite hard to trace.
Other possible ideas - is there a sensor which tells the alarm when the bonnet is open? This could be fooked.
Also, check all windows are properly closed, sometimes a breeze can blow air fresheners around and set it off.
Has the alarm blown any fuses?

No fuses blown to my knowledge and all windows are closed so not that.
Was thinking it could be moisture in the sensor as its not a infa red one i have to be pointing at at the sensor

You can get moisture on the live feed from the battery plus there might be sensitivity screw fitted to the siren which if fitted can be adjusted to stop false alarms.

cud try holding the button on the centre console, that looks like a speaker with a X thru it, in when you turn engine off... then the alarm light will come on... then jus lock the car as normal... this turns the motion sensor things off on the inside which are usually tempremental anyway but if ne of the doors are opened the alarm still goes off, this is what i do.

My car does this too. I have mine de-locked with a meta alarm. My alarm goes off if my fan kicks in after it has been alarmed. So now if my car has been running hot i have to lock it using the door pin then shut the door - its so annoying!!!
