Nah, trust me mate, it'll be fine.

Whats the rms of the amp??

well i think its 520rms as stated as it has (in my setup) 2 channels 104W rms and 1 channel 284 rms which is 492 total, so 520 would be right? or is the amp rms figured out differently.

Yer, your looking at about 500rms. You will be fine with that mate.

Just be sure o use good wiring. i.e. 8 gauge as a bare minimum. 4 gauge if you can.

yeh well i got 8 gauge, says its fine up till 2000w so should be ok for my purposes. Also just wondering whats the best way to get the speaker wire from the body of the car into the door cards for comps? I have tried to thread them through the original speaker wire grommets but its pretty difficult to get it into the tubing that protects it from the body to the door. Would it be best to just drill a hole, or would this be wrong as the wires would be quite exposed. Wouldnt like to trap them in the door hinge or something.

tbh i would buy a bosch heavy duty one at least, there only about 40 - 60 quid, standard one is useless imo

Your best to drill a small hole, about 4mm or so, dependant on cable thickness.

I just wrapped the cable in lots of duct tape to protect it a bit. Mines been in for years and its still good, never caught it in the hinge either...

hmmm may do in the future, but my car doesnt have many power using features. No electric windows, air con etc pretty basic so ill probably leave it, at least until i cant start my car in sainsburys car park due to music draining the battery

drill a small hole, about 4mm or so
kk ill give it a try tomorrow, just have to wait for my amp to come, ordered it on friday and it had nxt day delivery but still hasnt arrived. Ill wait till tomorrow then a lairy email will be sent
cheers guys:y:

itd be easier to run the wire under the carpet and bring it out behind your headunit, cut the speaker wires that connect it to the headunit and reconnect it to the speaker wire runing to the amp. its a lot easier, ive done that. just saves a lot of time and hassle trying to get it to the doors etc

Surely this will lose quality using the thin wire? Compared to better thicker wire going into the door?

nah it shouldnt make much of a difference.. barely noticable.. obv its your choice wiring your car.. but thought id suggest it. thats what i did and it sounds allright. just saves a lot of hassle getting the wirte through to the door. may aswell connect it to wire thats allready there
