I am considering buying a pressure washer for the car so i can give it a good firm spray round the rims and arches especially...
Is it possible to shampoo the car just using the pressure washer??
I am going to get a karcher with a shampoo tube on so it can apply shampoo also....
I know this is a good way to trap the dirt and let it fall from the car but does this offer a good clean or is the hands on approach needed afterwards also?
sorry ive just got into cleaning the car and not sure whether i would just use the pressure wash to get the main crap off and then use the 2 bucket method as normal!!
im sure id jet it using shampoo and then 2 bucket method just after opinions sorry....
and is it worth investing in one?
just after basic comments regarding pressure washers
please help sorry im a bit of a noob just looking to get some good bits...

You can spray shampoo out of them if you have the clear rubber tube coming out to do so, but you have to take the end off so it just sprays out slowly, not under preasure, basically like a normal hose, you can get them where they shampoo under hiogh preasure, but they cost alot more, i usually douse the car in suds with the nozzle off then put it back on and it still foams on high preasure for about 5-10 seconds and i do the skirts and sides of the doors in that time :y:

I reckon you should definitely have a pressure washer bud :y:
Karcher is also a good sound brand to go with.
Yeh you would use the pressure washer with the foaming attatchment and something like Snow Foam or Chem Guys Maxi Suds to initially foam the car down, this will soften up all the dirt on the car when left for 5-10 minutes. Then you would rinse the car using the standard attatchment. In most cases it will pull the majority of the muck off.
Then yes you would proceed to wash it using the 2 bucket method and a couple wash mitts. :y:
Hope that helps.

You would use a foam attatchment as i said above. Because foaming the car initially vastly reduces the risk of causing swirls, or any other paint defects.
You can get them from a few places off the net, only have one off hand:

that's pretty cheap tbh for a good pressure washer. do you get any attachments for them or is it just the unit and nozzle you get. looking into buying a good pressure washer too as the hose on mine has holes in so it doesnt have much pressure lol.
how much are the attachments and is it just regular shampoo you use or is it a special chemical type thing?

the ab foam lance is a good attachment for the pressure washer, or a glimour will do the same job in terms of spraying foam onto your car as a prewash and that can be used with the normal hose so you wont need to pay for a pressure washer
