I've no idea then fella. Yes thats the correct way.
If its been back to the shop and got another one, I really cant suggest much. Dont know of any faulty batches either.
Have you tried any of the copies in someone elses PS2?

if you took it back to the same shop you bought it from
it is most likely they have a bad batch .

same things happend to me but with San Andreas, i got 3 replacements and still no luck but could play other game on it fine
i took the Ps2 to get looked at an they said sumthin was dodgy with the Laser for reading new games (sumthin like that) an they could repair it.
BUT
while i was in the shop i noticed the new Slime line ps2 which made me want that, so he paid £75 to have my old ps2 and paid sumthin like £50 for the new PS2 and it works fine !
im not emplying that buying a new ps2 will sove your problem unless you havnt got the Slim line smileys/smiley2.gif
I had the same problem with my copy of GT4 that I got from Amazon. What I did was went into GAME and bought 1 then took the 1 I got from amazon back smileys/smiley17.gif Only thing is that the 1 I got from GAME now gets to the loading bit after a race and just freezes smileys/smiley7.gif

i had a faulty game which was from a batch they were all recalled and i got a replacement game and aload of free stuff
I've now resorted to the tried and tested method of hitting my PS2 when it freezes. And u know what the funny thing is, it works...sometimes smileys/smiley17.gif

yea I was about to say that will fix it smileys/smiley9.gif
A few of my mates bought a PS2 when they first came out, and apparently there was something dodgy with the early PS2's so my mates had to take em back and get replacements or ave em fixed. I'm lucky as I got my PS2 back in Aug 2003 and it works on all games no probs inc GT4.
