Hi,
New to Saxo's so bear with me.
I have new Pads/Vented Disc's on the front and original Pads/Solid Disc's at the rear from when I bought the car a few weeks ago.:wall:
Does the Saxo use the front more for breaking?
Its currently squealing and it sounds like its coming from the front but they are new so they shouldn't be.
I touched the Disc's at the rear after some serious driving and they were cold to the touch, but the front ones were very hot.
Advice anyone?
Thanks

Put some copper grease on the brake pads this might be why they are squealing.

Hi,
Would that cause squeals whilst breaking? Sounds unusual.
Will try it..
Thanks

Did you bed in the new front brakes after fitting?
Yes the fronts do most of the braking effort (same for all cars!)

Hi,
The Pads/Disc's at the front even though new were not fitted by me, so not sure when fitted or how many miles were done on them before getting the car.
Thanks

Hi,
Are front vented Disc's any good?
I was driving back from London yesterday and wasen't braking that much in my opinion but the brakes felt rubbish, and squealing as above. Can feel the roughness through the peddle.
Thanks

When you say vented do you mean two discs back to back, or uprated after-market style cross-drilled / grooved? VTR has "vented" discs as standard and yes they are good.
If you bought it like that then you'll not know if they were bedded in. If you can feel it through the pedal that might mean the discs have been warped and that might back-up the not bedded in thing.
Copper grease as above is the favourite, a little bit APPLIED ON THE BACK OF THE PADS!!
Can anyone explain why this prevents squeeks? Or is it..... cos it..... just does?!

Hi,
Mine are squealing almost all the time now.
Got my Copper Grease so will try it later today.
Front Vented Disc's are standard on the VTR but they are not Grooved or Drilled.
Thanks
