hello. after sorting my mk2 VTR out i have noticed another problem. in the engine bay there is a leak of thick black oil or something alike coeming from these two seals. now i cant remember where from but i have included pictures. i think one bit is on rocker cover (tube coming off) and other bit on the other end of the tube behind it. have a look let me know. looks like seal is broken but i dont know what it is or how much too replace etc etc. thanks

at a second look at those pics, that is the oil breather pipe from the rocker cover to the air filter..... - take the pipe off on the air box end and see if any oil comes out.....

there should be no oil in that pipe as its only a breather pipe.... a little reside is ok, but excessive naturally is not....... pass as to what could be causing it though atm....

If the oil breather pipe gets clogged up with oil then the pressure builds up you get leaks from other parts of the engine,in particular the rocker cover seal but this is prone to leaking anyway the seal is cheap to buy & easy to fit.Take off the breather pipe clean all the oil out check for splits, the other option you have is to do away with this pipe altogether & fit a breather filter again a cheap & easy thing to do.

If it`s a rocker cover seal your after then GSF carparts do them for about £6 a breather filter will set you back roughly £5-£8 just block up the hole where the original pipe goes into the air filter with a grommet with a bit of silicone sealant around it.
