right, was not well at all yesterday and didnt have anything to eat. today all ive had so far is two slices of toast. becasue i had nothing to eat yesterday i have no energy what so ever.

my boss text me yesterday asking for me to let him know if i was going to be back in tonight (10pm-7am) as he couldnt cover my shift.

i dont feel well enough to go to work at the minute but might do later on and might be able to drag myself through a shift.

so do i tell my boss i will be back in tonight and hope im better or tell him no i wont be back in which leaves him in the sh*t????

All depends how your relationship is with your boss, good or bad?

Just try to eat something today and keep him imformed throughout the day if you can and he should be happy what ever the outcome. It all comes down to communication mate.

Have a shower and try and get something to eat and drink plenty of fluids, might brighten you up abit.

If you go in then you know he's gunna be a happy chappy but if your relationship isnt great with him it could leave him abit pissed.

Ive had a boss like that, i had a really bad chest infection 2 years ago and even though i had a sick note he still got shitty with me and got angry when i phoned him to tell him i wasnt going in.

Our relationship was ok but when i returned to work it didnt have the same atmosphere if you know what i mean, its as if he thought i was faking it the prick lol.

mattg - my relationship with my boss all depends on how well his day is going, if he is having a sh*t day then he hates everyone but if he is having a good day then hes a right laugh. when people ring in sick, him and others the same level as me make the people that ring in sick feel guilty which i think is bang out of order which is one of the reasons why he sent me that message saying he had no cover.

i know for a fact if i ring him then he will say he needs to know now "yes or no"

Well if your not well your not well mate, shouldnt be put in that position to be honest. If your ill mate tell him the truth cus if he gets shitty some times and is a laugh other times then take a gamble and just tell him no sorry im not gunna be much use to you today.

not going in now as its been covered, i thought i had food poisioning (sp) but dont think it was must just have been a bug.
