It doesn't really matter, it should just go on straight away, maybe put a litle on the inside around joints but it's noy 100% necessary to do it.

go out and buy 'gun gum' ;) put it on the joints/clamps tighten them up then start your saxo up leave it on idle for aobut 5mins then let it cool down for a good hour or so the gum should be nice and furm but also flexible at the sametime :).

Gun Gum is for repairing holes in exhausts. What you want is Holts Fire Gum - it's a couple of quid for a tube at Halfrauds. :)

Any particular way you need to put it on? Rub it on with your finger on just squeeze it on??
Is it best to put in on the both pipe the inner pipe and the outer pipe to help bond??

You can use silcon mate as it tends to handle movement better

Could always try something like this.
Exhaust Silicone (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EXHAUST-GASKET-SILICONE-SEALANT-FLEXIBLE-200-DEGREESC_W0QQitemZ120244819921QQihZ002QQcategoryZ2 8641QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksid Zp1638Q2em118Q2el1247)

silicone is best especially on flanges.
i used loctite silicone on mine, really good stuff.
if its just for the slideing part of the exhaust just used gum gum.
dont use it for flanges though as it will just blow out.
silicone for flanges.
