urgent! wheels rubbing

car just faild m.o.t. one of major factors was the tyres are to big.

ive got a 1.4 saxo kitted as a VTR. Got vtr rims on with 185/55/14 tyres
on a full lock the tyres are rubbing. tester said put standards on. i havent got them. dont really wana fork out for new tyres(even though dont fink it would make much different)

anyone else had the same problems if so what did you do.

cause that shouldnt rub

yes but i dont know how much because i bought the car in its current state lol id say bout 60mm

when we got our car tested it had 16s 195/45s and wasnt lowered and failed, i had to take the wheel liners off the fronts and they had body kit corners trimmed off (or something like that) and it passed !!!!!

can anyone tell me if wheel spacers would cure my priblem and pass an m.o.t

even with a 60mm it shouldnt rub with vtr alloys?
