re-re-re-re-re-post.

LAD did do a 160bhp saxo but they didnt take them from Citroen direct to do them they just "tuned" them as the customer asked. however, the 160bhp is very questionable from what i have heard

The LAD cars aren't official citroen cars. Look how tacky the add ons are. And the "160 conversion is 130-140, the 180 conversion is 150ish.
Still a white mk1 vts on white flat spoke MOs, mmmmm

the bloke in the ad is claiming its limited edition as in citroen made 20 of them.

dont think id trust a car tuned by L.A.D....

I thought they were commisioned? My bad. But they are special editions they actually have production numbers etc, even if the bhp claims are excessive theyre not normal VTSs

Officially there wasn't a LTD edition VTS, but as said LAD do their own tuned version, which has nothing to do with Citroen as far as I'm aware. If they try to brand it as an official "Citroen Saxo VTS Ltd edition" then I believe thats wrong.

On said basis, any sort of modification makes your saxo limited edition :S

I once spoke to Ernie Lawton (he owns LAD) and he told me that LAD once had a contract with Citroen Manchester to build a Saxo called the San Remo.

A VTS had a supposed 40bhp gain from headwork and a 421 manifold - utterly ridiculous.

I can't quite remember how many he said were made, I think he said around 60 and they all came in white with LAD graphics on.

If you ever have the mis-fortune of speaking with this man, you'll realise that he either talks utter bullsh*t or is one of the biggest con artists in the motor trade.

He basically plays on young, innocent kids who know nothing about cars and promises these ridiculous power gains.

Yup, all marketing spiel by what seem like good con-artists. I've heard a lot about LAD motorsport's big-power claims. And I've never heard of one of them to turn out genuine. Definately taking advantage of eager young customers..

Agree poor effort IMO. "whack 'em white Mo's on to match the paint, that'll fool everyone like!" (says the director of LAD).
