basically mate my was riding his aprillia RS home last night and the police pulled him over for no reason. they wanted to check his bike over and finally they found he was missing his front L plate. they then issued him with a £60 fine and 3 points. now does anybody else think this is unfair and over the top?? surely they could've given him a warning or a 7 day wonder thingy?

1. police can pull anyone over for no reason they now have the power to do that.
2.Due to him not having a front L plate to a driver in front of him he would look like a person who has passed there test (as he is not showing a L plate as such)
3.its not unfair your mate should have seen he had no front L plate if it was on the rear the police may have let him off and not issued him 3 points and maybe only a fine!

sorry to see your mate get that but the law is the law as already been said.

i dont see why its such a bad offense, fine yes but points is harsh for a young person, will fuck up his car insurance quotes now, isnt like anyone will be affected because he doesnt have a front L plate

I have to say it does sound a bit unfair. You see loads of people driving around in the cars their kids are learning in and they leave the L plates on, which is also an offense but I have never seen anyone pulled for that:n:

ill riding my KMX125 before i past my driving and the old bill stopped me, they were soon enough to give me a £60 fine and 3 points for no 'L' plates. they walked round my bike twice. I told them my bike had been vandalised at work and someone had snapped off my rear 'L' plate and shown him the new break but wasn't interested.

I got busted for supplying Crack Cocaine to kids at the local school.... I got the 12 years behind bars.

harsh.

errr no it isn't, its da law. If you're willing to break the rules then you should be willing to accept the consequences regardless of severity.

Harsh, fine is ok, but points are stiff. They serve no purpose really in this situation.

Jobsworth Police are the rule these days

yeh personally a bit out of order,
fine would have been enough tbh,
happened to one of my mates he cant get insured on a car because of it,
surely to get point you have to be recless and causing trouble to other users of the road and the fact that you only have one plate on a bike means you should just have to display one plate if you ask me but i suppose its the ghey law at the end of the day we live in a country run by idiots!rant over
