i was just about to change my discs when the bolt that holds on the disc rounded off what should i do?

should i drill it and just let the wheel bolts hold it in?

yeah, its only really there to hold the discs in place while putting the wheel on.

if you were really picky you could drill and retap, but if the otehr one's still there, just use that :)

I've seen the AA solder some rod type thing to the bolt then remove them with a shifter...

just a bit FYI

this happens all the time mate, its a real easy fix just use a big hammer and wack the back of the disk facing outwards the pressure/shock off the will snap the top of the bolt off and the disk will come off, there weak bolts and there will be enough thread to get mole grips on to turn off, trust me i have done it thousands of times

or you can get a punch and tap the screw/bolt round to loosen it off. isnt required just a bit awkward to line the wheel/disc/hub up if not there.

I had this problem at work.

I take it your renewing your discs.

If the Hit the Bolt round with a punch method doesnt work.

Find the Biggest hammer you have and smash the disc to pieces

Then you can get your bolts out with vice grips.

The way steve recommended works well, but doesn;t work if the discs are well and truely rusted to the hub. I have also used a chisel and hammer to batter them undone, then replaced them. There are two holes. if you can't get the thread out then just tap the rust out of the other hole and use that one.
