Hi guys,

im posting this for my brother, who is looking to buy a saxo VTR in the next couple of months...

Both me and him don't really know much about what to look out for etc and common problems with them????

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks :y:

i would check the front slam panel for impact issues

check that all the vt add ons are ok, side skirts and archs

check the oil (but sure u already know that)

make sure both keys work in all the locks :)

A mistake i made when buying mine.

Also check for any obvious and less obvious leaks coming from the radiator. And also for overheating, could be a sign of the head gasket going.

ok cheers mate,

he's going to have about £1k-£1,200 to spend - that should be enough for an "average" condition one IMO...

What subtle mods would you recommend???

Thanks

We were thinking along the lines of...

- Alloys 15's or 16's
- Lowered 40mm ish
- Induction kit
- Zorst

Also have a look in the for sale section on here, some nice motors go for peanuts.

personally i would just powdercoat the vtr rims or put vts rims if you want some 15's on but its personal prefernece i suppose

all other mods seem fair enough

maybe a manifold to go with the zorst....

what colour does he want?

Make sure it's got 4 wheels, doors are handy and preferabley an engine under the bonnet!

well done :n:

Im not entirely sure on what colour he wants, just thought I'd get a heads up on things to look out for and mod recommendations!!!!

Yea manifold could be a good idea - not sure on how much cash he is going to have to start with but yea those mods should do!

i wouldn't buy one that looks like it's been used and abused.
