"High speed 56K modem"

Its got an oxymoron for a modem lol. Why do they even bother to print something like that? Someone acctually took time and wrote "high speed".

Spec looks beastly for a laptop, have bought my missus and my sister HP laptops in the past 6 months too and both seem to be fairing pretty well in the harsh environmet of belonging to a woman.

Only thing iv noticed about them is their battery life claims are on the optimistic side by about an hour. My sisters quoted 3.5 hours and lasts 2.5 and the missus was 4.5 and lasts 3.5 both in power saving mode with only some web browsing going on. Although i didnt spot any battery info in that spec list.

Run CystalMark on it when you get it, will be interesting to see how it compares to a desktop.

Not sure on the battery life, only booted it up last night and began removing all the free shit that comes with it. Also got a 12 cell extended battery with it so hopefully the two together should cover me. Ill have a look at crystalmark once I have sorted all the AV shit

plan is still on for a macbook this just happened to come up at such a ridiculous price that I couldnt turn it down!

a very good spec i see there, but it could have had a 10/100/1000 RJ45 port thrown in instead of the standard 10/100. May i dare to ask how much for then?

That is one sexy laptop! I like the style of it! Take some pics when you get it or when u have the chance. like to see it from a non modelling point of veiw!

Won't be able to beat it at that priced compared to a Mac. Price range anyway. Good deal/good find! nice one! :)

If you do get a apple laptop make sure its a Macbook Pro, I made the mistake of buying a Macbook and ever since it arrived id been kicking myself for not buying a pro instead.

Couldn't have a 14" screen, nice spec tough

Scott
23rd April 2008, 23:45
you would be surprised tupps, im used to a 19" monitor at home, 17" monitor at desk at work, 15.4" laptop for work and a personal 17" laptop at home and the 14.1" widescreen has been no problem so far.

Only problem so far is vista sucks dong, always has done but now im using it its annoying me even more. Need to get some time with it and stop all this permission rubbish

Mystic

Hmm, if you 2 do it, im doing it on my girlfriends one too then cus it pisses me off having Vista on it. Its too clumpy an OS for a laptop i think.

Tupps
25th April 2008, 14:51

Oh does it not?

Got my laptop brand new, browsed the space and 25gb was used up already - assumed it was Vista?

Scott

most likely you have a partition for recovery Tupps

Ah right, not a clue what that is but sounds funky

Scott
25th April 2008, 16:09
ha ha instead of shipping restore discs (that would restore your laptop back to factory settings if say you had a virus or something) which cost money they set aside an area on the hard disc (partion) to store the recovery software.

Its just a way for them to make an extra few pence out of us

Very nice, how much did you pay for it then?
