I dont understand why st georges day doesnot get more recognition. I didn't even know.

It does my head in because st paddys day is celebrated by any tom dick or harry.

Thing is with every other St's day they dont care about the people who arn't Irish Scottish etc. and just do it fully. With St Georges day we have to be PC and thing about the feelings of all the non English people, who will see us celebrating this day and get offended by it and our flag! :panic:

Yep... that right... but I don't care... I've got my flag on my desk at work and I'm not taking it down... we've got loads of foreigners working here... they can whistle if they think I'm taking my flag down cause it offends them!!

When I worked in Lewisham (mostly Blacks live in Lewisham), Jamaica day was celebrated big style, but I wasn't allowed my flag up on St G's day!!

Chris :)

Dont think enough people celebrate it tbh..

It's just a joke tbh, I remember it a couple of years ago, they were telling students at the uni's to take down their flags too. It's really annoying tbh, no-one really is proud to be English anymore (probably because no-one really is English)
Things will only get worse too...

EDIT: As Aimee's just said, it seems like no-one can be bothered to celebrate it...

When I lived at me mums (near Boston) and the big match against Portugal we were told to take our flags down because of the number of Portugease in that area. ( We didnt)

There was so much trouble, police cars over turned, 3 pubs fire bombed , a Portgugease pub with a sign saying "no english" really is a joke.

They care more about the other ethnic groups , and being told were not allowed to call christmas lights "christmas lights" is ridiculous.

Rant over haha

wahey, happy st georges day.

think the reason nobody celebrates it is something to with banning celebrations for it as muslims and other religions find it offensive. remember the football (world cup?) when the england flags were banned as it was offensive to other religions?

what a load of b****ks
