Right, don't really know much about suspension so i'm asking for some advice. I want to lower my saxo all round 50-60mm but i want to go the right way about it rather then just lowering the torsion bar and putting some gmax springs in the front ( heard its a cheap way and uncomfortable ride ). I'm not fussy on prices but don't intend spending over £300 or so. I'll have the kit fitted at work so don't need any info about fitting as that sounds like a headache. If i purchase a kit consisting of 2 springs and 4 shocks is that enough? Do i need dampers aswell? All knowledge is welcome people :panic:

Found this kit :

Yes/No

Could you supply relevant links to the direct parts/kits i need if you have any

Cheers
Reiss

You're supposed to replace standard shocks i believe if your lowering it, but quite a few people keep standard shocks on and lower it 50/60mm with no problems.

I don't know too much, but for just general road use and looks i'd guess springs would be fine along with torsion bar lowered and replace standard shocks if you can afford it :y:

bottom line is that is the way to lower the car

the dampers are the shocks. If you want to doit properly, you will need 4x springs and 4x dampers

lol, people's advice.

Mate, dont get gmax for a start. GET a kit containing 2 x front springs and 4 x shocks/dampers (same thing).

If your going 60mm go for a spax psx/vsx or if your going 50mm go for the eibach sportline kit with billistein shocks (more expensive, but worth it)

I personally have gone down 60mm at the back and 50mm at the front just on eibach -50mm springs and standards shocks, i dont really advice this, but it suits me, and keeps the extra 200-300 quid in my back pocket, hope this helps.

whats your ride like with standard shocks? is it bouncy after speed bumps and how long have you had it lowered with standard shocks(wont they wear out quickly) - thanks, its just that ive heard you dont really need shortened shocks with eibach sportline springs for some reason?

You dont really need them no, as the spring rate of the eibach's works well with the standard shocks, so its basically like a standard ride but lower. Obviously its a bit boucy but tbh, i dont notice that much difference, its not really harsh like you would expect when lowering on just springs.

I personally think its ok, and ive had for about 8 months i think !

There's still bit of bodyroll obviously, but it does handle better and does look spot on.

we have Koni shocks (off car adjustables, set to firm) and springs 50mm front and 50mm rear

as said get a kit with the lot in it - springs and shocks !!!
