I'm thinking of getting a remote central locking Kit and fitting one
I have a SAXO 1.1i EAST COAST edition 1998

Do you think that would work with my car? and rough guide of how much i'd get charged to get it fitted.
Need quick responses and rep given =).
Ive called a garage and one said they'd do it for £200 with their own equipment, but thats far too expensive.
Thanks!

Another garage said they'd do it for £75, but what *cheap* remote systems do you recommend? Maybe one with an alarm at an affordable price?
My car doesnt have central locking already sadly!

You'd be better off going to an auto electrician's they would probably be cheaper, although if you've got the know how it really is quite easy and these kits come with full instuctions. Also the kit will fit I've used one on a 205 it's exactly the same only I paid a hell of alot more.

Hmm well, i need to get my breaks done, kwik-fit said worst case scenario would be £150 for front and £150 for back, because they're badly corroded.
Would remote central locking increase my car value anyway?

no wouldnt really increase the value much if at all i would say, just make it slightly more desirable

and get a haynes manual and do the brakes yourself, can do it for a quarter of the price!

I have a haynes manual for my car, worried i'd mess it up though, another garage, one i usually use quoted £79 for front and £60 for back, he said he'd have a look at it this afternoon as it might not be as expensive as that, depends what i need and want doing lol :P

You can't really mess the brakes up as you don't need to touch the bleed system just using a bar will depress the caliper eveything else is a straight forward swap over. Still for ease and time and for the money you've been quoted probably easier to let the garage do it!!!!!!!

I may need to get it bleeded as the brakes feel sponguey. maybe air in the system, and the handbrake lifts too high so, i'll get garage to do it
AS for remote central locking, i'll give it a go myself, if i cant get it to work i can get the garage to do it:P
cheers!

Let me know if you manage to fit the cental locking yourself! I want to do it to mine, but I don't know whether I'd be better taking it to a specialist! :\

i have jus got a loom out of a vts for central locking, electric windows and electric mirrors it will be quite easy i think if you have a look in the back of your haynes manual there are wiring diagrams i was going to fit mine this week and i accidently stripped the torx bolt to take the sterring wheel off:wall:
