Hello all, rite i have a bit of a problem.

I have just picked up my g max springs (lower 55mm) bt the safety notice says that i will have to order a new track rod as the power steering pipe may be crushed on lowering?

as far as i know this problem is only supposed to occur when the front is lowered 60mm +?

Now my saxo is a mk2, my mate has a mk1 and is lowered 60mm at front and he hasnt had this problem?

Has any one with a mk2 lowered paxo had or come accross this?

If you could reply asasp as i want to get it booked in at the garage.

Cheers smileys/smiley2.gif

so there is no need for the modified track rod?

no there is no "need" for it, you could have one fitted if you wanted but thats more expense when it can just be levered out the way

also how long would my standard shocks last with lowering springs fitted?

the mk2 saxo - on some websites it states that if you get your car lowered you need to relocate the power steering feed pipe, if you mention that to the garage they shud no wot your on about, i got mine done lowered at the citroen garage and they just got on with it, if the garage does it and the pipe does need movin surely they wil realise this and do it i would of though!

why waste money buying a new track-rod when you can just bend the fucker out of the way?!? the pas pipe usually only rubs when it's lowered 60mm, but it's a 2minute piece of cake DIY job to move it, and just as 'safe' as the modified track-rod.
