Acceleration

Ok peeps I want my car to be fast at acceleration - Not to bothered about top end tbh. Whats the best thing to buy to get quicker acceleration.

Im thinking 1.4 gearbox
4-2-1 manifold

I already got De-Cat and full system

West told me the 1.4 box is good in the VTR but somebody else told me it wont last verylong and the gearing isnt much different?

the gearing id much different!!! im sitting prity at 60mph with the rev needle at 3.5k in 5th gear....!
at 80mph the revs see the good part of 4.5k!

pulling away in 5th is a good party trick! as ell as 2nd & 3rd gear wheel spins....

acceleration > so were lookin at increasing the torque figures yes!?

id go for g/box (1.4/1.3), zorst with decat, inclosed filter (BMC r great!), uprated clutch helix if you got the bling!, cams, you could also light&balance the fly wheel, uprasted all the pullys etc.... serious work!

Think im gonna go 1.4 box mate and get enclosed induction - will I notice much diff between an enclosed induction and my current open filter (Ram Air)

I noticed a better throttle response when I went from Pipercross open to BMC enclosed actually.

if ur looking for reasonabley priced solutions - a short shift mite help a little...
