How easy it is to remove the steering wheel in a VTR with airbag?
How's it done? Is there a guide anywhere on Sax-p?

And what do I need in order to put a different wheel on, as regards fitting, and the Airbag light being on?

Also, whats the situation with airbag lights and MOT time?

Reason I ask is that my wheel is looing really worn and tatty, and I wanna replace it but wont bother if its gonna cause loads of MOT hassle.

You need to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes before attempting to do anything mate. It will fail if the airbag light is on at MOT time..

Thats all i know, hope it helps.

could invest in a maxpower haynes book-basically answers all that for you
ps. Might get more replies in styling interior section

undo 2 torx screws at the back airbag comes out and then its the big torx screw in the middle iirc. u will need a boss kit for the new wheel mate. mot time i am unsure but it shouldnt be a problem if the airbag lights not illuminated. in the saxo moddin manual it says to strip the dash down and tape a piece of electrical tape over the airbag warning lamp. iirc u can buy wheels and boss kits for the saxo with airbag.
hope this helps mate

NOT an MOT fail. Just an advisory!

doesnt it depend on the mot tester - some might think nothing of it becuase its common with saxos n pugs , whereas other fail it becuase if there was an actual fault with the airbag during a crash, they could get bent over for it

I don't believe it is, I was on a small VOSA course and from what I remember aslong as it's not ABS or Engine Management you're okay!
EDIT: I had an advisory from Arnold Clark. Funnily enough the c**ts missed the oil leak from the head gasket.

Sorry for posting like mad, but you can also bridge out the light with a fuse. It shows you in Maxpower "The Worx" - as I'm sure it will in a few other manuals :y:
