SHE'S BACK!!! Updated post #46

Some of you may know my car was driven into the back of some time ago, 12th March as it happens and I eventually received it back friday nigh after a complete farce with the insurance.

First the girl that drove into the back of me claimed it was my fault - even though she was an inexperienced driver on a provisional license!

Then the repairers said that some of the rear damage wasn't caused by the crash - pursuing that as we speak

Then my insurers took a month to chase the 3rd party for liability and in the meantime they have filed a claim against me for personal injury!

Then the repairers repaired the damage to the rear of my car badly and have to redo it all!

Then I discover the legal cover I paid for is worth feck all as they have done bugger all over and above the insurers so far!

Then when it eventually gets returned to me and there is a whacking great dent in the drivers side front wing! The rear light is damaged and not been replaced/repaired and none of the rear lines up as it previously did!

So far all I have had from the insurers (NIG), reapirers (UK Assistance) and the legal team (Albany Assist) is crap service and I would NEVER recommend any of their services to anyone.

Anyway, the beast is back so all she needs now is the wing sorting, rear quarter that is creased sorting, arse end lining up properly and a proper clean!

What do people think to my wide mouth? Should it stay orange or go back to black?

imo the wide mouth defo needs to be black, doesnt look right orange.

Repairers are meant to be visiting my house to reassess the repairs.

Forgot to mention they also manged to rip clean off my carbon door pull and leave it in the drivers side footwell full of mud! Disrespectful bastards.

My insurance is through Brentacre and I can't praise them enough to be fair. John at Brentacre has done all he can to resolve the problems I've had but with them being a broker it's fairly limited the amount of involvement they can have.

As soon as the claim has been resolved I'll be changing from NIG to Highway but staying with Brentacre if that makes sense?

I'm quite liking the widemouth in orange at the mo, but reckon if I keep it the chevs will have to go black again to keep the colour balance

Might well go back to orange caps, just got a bit bored and had the mirrors fully coded

Got a few jobs lined up for her in the coming weeks as well. Having sunroof replaced by a fg pannel painted black for the time being until Bic pulls his finger out ;). Need to get a black sun strip as I can't see bugger all with the sun in my eyes and no visors! Then I can get the interior painted and cage bolted in AT LAST!

im a fan of the widemouth but i agree about painting the chevrons to get the colour balance back in order, but deffently keep the orange wide mouth. sounds like you have had a nightmare over the insurance and mechanics.

Paul - Nah, if I were to change the colour scheme I would go silver (Audi bright metallic) on the F2 kit with the orange wheels and cage ;)

I've just had an email from a lady in NIG's Personal Injury department stating that the 3rd Ptry is making a claim against me for personal injury after I reversed around the corner into her!!!

Here is the response from my insurers:

Our Insured: Craig xxxxxxxxxx
Your Client: S Mahmood
Accident: 12 March 2008

We write further to the above claim and confirm receipt of our policy holder’s statement, along with photographs taken at the scene of the accident.

You will note from our policy holders statement that he was on his way to work, along a route that he is familiar with. Our insured had no reason to reverse around the bend.

Your client stated she had only just passed her test. Your client was obviously lacking in experience of driving in wet conditions, put her foot on the brake a little too late causing her to collide with the rear of our client’s vehicle.

Please provide a copy of your client’s full driving license as soon as possible.

There is no logic to your client’s allegations and therefore have no offers to make in respect of liability.

Our insured is prepared to attend court to testify to this.

Please note that Coxxxx solicitors of xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx have been nominated to accept service should proceedings be issued.

We look forward to receiving an admission of liability within the next 21 days.

Crazy! My main concern now is if she does win 50/50. I'll still be my excess out of pocket.

I really annoys me that people like this can't just admit they were in the wrong rather than taking the piss and filing a personal injury claim as well!
