View Full Version : Sad day yesterday.

Well, sadly for me I lost my dog after nearly 14 years yesterday, she got put to sleep after having a 3rd stroke in 1month. Although she always recovers she got worse every stroke.

Worst thing was, watching her be put to sleep while her tail was still wagging and her eyes and paws are looking/trying to get to you. Worst and hardest thing I have ever done was stand there and watch and trying to make myself believe it was for the best.

I felt empty and I still do, the house is so quiet without having a nice fluffy dog running around! Apparently it can take years to forgot there eyes when looking at you, but memories are forever and my dog lives on in another life!

My uncle however is a spiritualist and goes to meetings where people relax and talk about things that come to there minds, someone in the room who didn't no anything about my dog thought of a little white dog, sitting in her basket wagging her tail while playing with a toy lion! Funny that my dog was white, always wagged her tail and had a toy lion :fcuk:

I loved having a pet, even tho they could never talk they always let you know they loved you more than life it's self.

I'm happy to say a big thanks to; chris-IOW for taking the time to make a vinyl for my car in respect of my loss, great work and person for taking time to make something that means alot to me and my family.

It's nice to see people care for others that they don't even know in person.

I'll post some pictures of the vinyl once it's been fitted to the car! it's nothing major in size, only around a DVD box, but it means I get to drive around with the memory right near me, which means alot.

People say your first pet is like your first love, you'll never forget them, there will be nothing quiet as special and they will always have a place in your heart.

It's a sad time, but I had some great times with a dog that was so special.

r.i.p minny, you'll be missed.

Sorry about the little essay, but I felt like chatting and I was on this forum at the time! :y:

My old dog died of a stroke, was horrible.

My nan and grandads dog got put down and I was there, the way they just drop on the table is totally unexpected. To see my grandad cry just got me and yeah it's one of the hardest thing's to do!

Feel for you mate, dog is like a member of the family

Yes I was suprised how quickly they go to sleep, I thought maybe they give her an injection and you get like 5mins just to really say good bye then they go to sleep, but it took all of 5seconds! Shocking to be fair, but she looked happy.

O yes the dogs that ignore you until you have chocolate or something thats bad for them! I swear they eat ANYTHING but dog food lol.

I had my old collie put down 2 years ago. He was 14, his body was slowly shutting down. I was 20 at the time and had not cried since i was 12ish. After the vet left i cried like a little girl and will openly admit it.

We waited a year to get another one. It was about the right time for us, i guess everyone is different though.

Just glad I could care for her and she had a nice long life of 112 :p Just think about the best times you had with your dog and that they had a good life..
My dog knew she was going to die and went under the shoe rack where it was nice and comfy with a few pillows.. she never been there before but went there to die

I honestly cant imagine how hard that must of been.

Every day I come home from work Ozzy my dog (Border spastic, not collie more disabled) jumps on me and I wrestle with him and mess around nibbling his ears tormenting him etc. Love that little fucker so much. Id be a mess I think if anything ever happened to him..........

Chin up buddy
