Right I've just about lost it now I'm getting quite annoyed:

As some of you may remember I returned my MP3 to comet for it to be fixed, only to be told I shall be issued a credit note and that I will be contacted within 28 days or before.

A week before the 28 days I contacted comet in my town asking how it was going as I hadn't heard anything and how I would go about receiving the credit note (e.g. through post, go to store and collect etc.) I spoke to Beverly. She told me that it was just waiting to be processed and sent off, and not to worry. Fair enough i thought.

2 days after the 28 days I contacted the insurers after getting their number through a online chat person. He told me that they hadn't received the item and that he didn't know where it was. He left me on hold and got back to me stating it was still at comet!!! :fcuk:

A week and a half after the 28 days I went into comet and asked where the beejesus is my MP3 player? She (Beverly who I spoke to earlier) told me that she did not know and that it was not on the system.... she rang the insurers, they spent 5 minutes on the phone with her whilst I contacted the mrs. informing her how annoyed I was. Beverly turned around and told me it was still in the back waiting to be wrote off so that I could be sent the credit note.

I said "right ok when Can i expect my credit note?"
She then told me that "it would be here by the weekend, and if it doesn't arrive by the weekend I should visit her on Monday and talk to her about it again"

As you can probably guess they still haven't tried contacting me!

To be completed honest I'm getting fed up of running after them and waiting for them why should I have to keep ringing them up? This is bad customer services tbh. What can I do and what should I do? Any extra help would be great chaps, I have the right mind to take this up with trading standards.

Will I ever see this credit note? It certainly doesn't seem like it... :wall:

I'm going into comet tomorrow before work, I just want to demand the credit note there and then! :n:

word of advice, never use comet! ive had problems with them in the past and they employ a bunch of numpties ( no offence if anyone works for them ) so would never EVER use them again

Well the Mp3's value is around £170, but due to wear and tear etc. it will have bumped down, but I was going to buy a xbox with the money left over and afford GTA, that outcome would be me having withdrawal symptoms.

But tbh a choice of a 1.1 saxo and a 1.4 306, hardly going to be getting away fast ;)

You met me dude at the RR I'm quite a shy bloke and I'm easily walked over, tbh I planned on causing a scene a week ago but failed miserably due Beverly's charm and assuring tone of voice :n:

Just been down to Comet. As soon as I walked in Beverly went "Oh no" to her colleague. I walked right up and said:

"I haven't been contacted once this is getting out of hand now"

"They should have contacted you, but there's not alot I can do now as it's bank holiday I'm afraid the insurance offices are closed."

I felt like screaming at her stating why the f*ck tell me to come in on Monday then? Wasting my petrol and my revision time?

"I can assure you the email has now been sent, it's in the back thats about all I can say really"

"Right can I see my item please, and can I have a timescale printed out for me of what has actually happened to the item since I left it here?"

"Sorry? *laughing* It's just been left here since you left it at the store."

"*raising voice* It hasn't moved at all then? I'm sorry but you can't tell me it would be 28 days when it has taken this long to get this item wrote off!"

"*digging a hole for herself* it's actually 18 days now, that 28 days policy ended... (why do I care about that? Just more for me to moan to Head office about) I would feel the same If I was in your shoes don't worry"



She ventured to the back of the store and pulled out my item, showed it to me and the documents stating 'email sent'

I then said "When will I be contacted?"

"As it's bank holiday Monday today I can assure you that I'll contact you tomorrow."

"Ok well I'm out all tomorrow, have my other mobile number as I shall be at University doing my exams. I will pick up, I can then expect my credit note when?"

"You should be able to pick it up after the phone call"

So I'm awaiting a telephone call tomorrow now, it has been nearly a month and a half now since I dropped it off (not to the extent of a few months which it could of turned into if I had let this go), I'll be contacting trading standards by the end of the week and their Head office.

What a waste of frigging time this has been, going to revise before work now.

i work at comet in the warehouse lol i fucking hate it there! the way they treat customers is unbelieveable i think i got a new job on the 26th of jusne thank fuck lol

I'm going to contact Head office and state that I wanted this sorted before the start of May before my exams began so that I could be in the comfort of knowing that my valuable time for revising would not be disturbed by the warranty process, and that this has not been the case... yadda yadda yadda.

My sister had a Camera from Comet back at christmas, this has now failed to work (the lens won't focus, every image is a blur) she has already returned one of them, and this one seems like it was a prototype/display model as it really is that nackered. Luckily she has a warranty too, wonder how long they'll keep her waiting? :panic:

To be honest, you should ring up head office. Make a huge fuss, telling them that you wouldnt be using them again etc. I wouldnt be suprised if you got something for free.

But yeah there customer service is known to be sh*t, shame really since it's such a big comany! Hopefully I'll be able to be atleast a half decent employee if I get the job. :y:

ye the staff at comet are unbelievable. i remember when i was 15 they got security to kick me out just becuase of my age. i werent even doing anything just looking at the mp3 players and the manager (some turd) and security guard walk after me pretty fast to tell me to get out. they also woudnt let a 15 year old mate buy a game which age 15 rated. so he showed them proof that he was 15 and the rude manager says 'no you have to be over 15 to buy it wtf?) now we are older we still see the dick in comet sometimes and they cant kick us out for our age so they just stare

they took about 4 weeks to get my 2 free ps3 games with me going in every 2 days because they never contacted me: 'theyre on order, anytime soon'. eventually i just picked 2 games and demanded them free. funny how mine showed up within 30 seconds... absolute shit.

Curry's. PC World and Dixon's....What a load of tosh!

I tried to get my laptop's keyboard replaced under warrentee but they said it was damaged and they wouldn't replace it! "CUNTS" and told me to ring some parts company, who "stock everything" to do with the Dixon's group! Rang them and they dont have anything on any of their HP PC's lol!

So rang HP and they picked it up the next day to be fixed... all for free :)

Comet rang me whilst waiting for a bus after Uni and told me they've now had it wrote off... (About time) and that I shall be hearing from the warranty team and that I should ring them.

I rang them they told me it was actually wrote off on the 1st of May... a week ago, and that I actually need to ring the beyond economical repair team... (another line divert later)...

"Oh sorry sir this has been far too long overdue *no sh%t sherlock* we can't find you a suitable replacement on the system so we are sending you a gift card of £159.99..."

"When will I receive my gift card?"

"Within 3-5 working days sir, sorry for the delay".

So all along it has just been laid back and shoved aside by the waste of space that is my comet store... when my voucher arrives (saturday at a guess) it's time to ring Head office :y:

yeah... dont bother they are a wank company lol !!

nah just make sure ur confident.. show people skills.. same as any interview.. shake hands when u meet etc .. be polite.. and do a bit of research about the company... products etc ! and be well presented :D

currys is just a bad lol!

bought a tv from thm that was faulty,

It was a disply model as only 1 left, and speaker was not working on 1side lol, went into store and told them i wanted a replace and what was wrong.
They told me som1 would have to come to my house and check it out, i was ok with that np at all. Took them 2weeks to come round "tv was 2days old when i called them lol" When they came round turned tv on, "yep speaker gone" then i told the guy it was a disply model and he went mad, saying why we been called out etc they shoulda just refunded you lol.

So i went into shop with my conformation of tv been faulty, and got my depo refunding into my acct, and also told my first months payment "finance" would be refunding into my account, Next month they take another payment lol and no refund, so i went into shop again and asked why had they continued to take payments. They told me there was no way as they instructed there company to stop, anyway after geting mad they finaly phoned them up again and admited they had made a mistake.


Id just go in and make a sence, say you aint leaveing the shop untill you get whats yours.


just read they contacted you, gl geting it and i would still call and complain.
