Well I was out for a meal last night with the mrs, we finish and waited for the rents to pic us up (my car has no MOT) and I witness this transit van reversing.

He is reversing perpendicular to the road (so across is trying to do a 3 pointer)

He hits a land rover which is parked up - no one inside.... owner nowhere to be seen. dents its quite badly.

The van driver pulls up and stops to asses the damage of both his an the land rover.

Looks worried and doesnt do much but loiter.... I got both plates but had to go and the rents where here.

I dont know what happened after - so he could have left his number no sure...

Should I get in touch and give details to the land rover? and can this be done via a plate?

Only asking because I would be devastated if that happened to me.... if that van hit my sax it would do loads more damage! I would want someone to tell me if they saw anything.

Advice please

Id say just go and enquire at the police station, dont think many people can get names and addresses from plates, unless somone wants to share the info on how to do it ;)

I would. I get really fucked off when people scratch my car let alone dent it. Unless it looks like some rich cunt owns it in which case they can pay for it :homme:

Do it mate, go down the police station and give in the reg details.
Was it in a busy area? Might be CCTV aswell

Go to the same place and check if the Land Rover is still there and leave a note on his windscreen, if its not there go to police station and let them know what happened

A guy I used to work for did soemthing like that about a year ago.
He was pulling into the Carpark and is was very icey, so just as he went to pull into his normal parking space he accidently clipped the side of another car with his Van.

Good thing is he acctually left a note on the car he clipped applogising and saying what happend, when it happend and where he was, 5hrs later a woman comes into the shop and says about the note on her car, so Russ (The guy who I worked for and shop owner) explained what happened and said that he would pay fo any damages.

Best thing to do is let the old bill know what happened and give them the 2 Registarion numbers, Details of both Vehicles, where it happend and when it happened.

tell the police station or the restaurant you were at.

yeah jus go to the police... i watched someone scrape down the side of a car in tesco car park... funny thing was the owner stood there and watched and then went mad when they had finished writing off the side of the car !! i took his plate down in case it wasnt the owner !!
