View Full Version : Mechanics out there....?
Hi All,
I'm just gonna dive in to my first post here...
I curbed my VTR pretty badly back in Feb but had it reapired by a garage approved by my insurer.
They had to replace the front offside wheel, bearing kit, holding arm and drive shaft.
Since they have done the repairs, theres been a rasping/grumbling noise coming from somewhere towards the front wheels. Its not massively loud but its fooking annoying. It happens at low speeds just as much as high speeds. Sounds a bit like two metal plates that lightly rub together, then stop, then start again etc etc.
I had it back to the garage for them to have a look but they said they cant find anything mechanically wrong with it. Just feel like they are fobbing me off a bit.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing the sound?
Cheers!

Get a second garage to look at it and say there opinions and speak to your insurer tell them you've had a econd opinion and then they have found faulst your going has missed, and you want it sorting asap, everything charged to them

check your wheel nuts/studs.one might be loose.or more.
Cool, thanks everyone!
I think I'll get a 2nd opinion from local garage and go storming back to the place where I got it (half) repaired.

Hi mate, I live in East London...a fair way from Bonny Scotland!
Thanks anyway.
Any other inklings as to what might be the problem?
Cheers,

was going to say the same thing. Sounds like a driveshaft related problem, but get it checked out first :y:
