Hi Guys

I just ordered a new Kenwood KDC 5041. What kind of parts do i need? The Citroen dealer guy said i need a universal harness or something! I've got a factory radio in my car. Can i do this myself cos the dealer said it might cost between £25-75 to fit it for me.

Its an absoloute piece of piss to fit matey!

Dont let anyone else fit it for you, it really is a 2 minute job!

All you need to do is take out the old unit using the keys which come with the car (hopefully). If you havent got the key then you can just use a screwdriver or something.

Once its out you will see the wiring harness. You simply plug this into your new unit, push the unit into the hoe and bobs your uncle!

Im not 100% sure if you need an iso adaptor with the saxo's or not, cus ive never seen a standard unit.

Evem if you do need different wiring to connect the new unit the adaptors are only like £10 from halfrauds/a1motorstores/motorworld etc etc...

If you get stuck just bump this thread and wack up some pics. You will be fine fitting it though.

Cheers mate. The Citroen guy said it's really dangerous and you might F up the wiring and short circuit the electronics. He said to me that it will take about 30-1hour and it cost me at least £35 depending how tricky it takes. Do i need a ISO harness? Or any other bits for the head unit.

Thats an absoloute load of bollocks mate! Its not dangerous in the slightest. Even if you did short anything out, not that you will, it is all fused.:y:

Im not 100% sure what the back of a standard unit looks like, but i expect you will need the iso adaptor.

Where do you live? Someone on here will do it for a fiver:y: I know i would.

You need something like this. If you go into your local car shop they will sort you out.
