yeah i get it as well . funny thing is my m8 gets out the car and nothingsmileys/smiley5.gif i get out after him and take 12 volts + through my fooking arm. smileys/smiley7.gif
so i asked a mechanic, now i dont know if its some sort of old wifes tale as they say ,but he said if you dont use conditioner on ur clothes then ur clothes become very static and can cause it smileys/smiley5.gif ill leave that 1 open to yourselves smileys/smiley5.gif

Guess wot? i get eletric shocks too, my car came with one of those static removers that was dangling down from the other side to the exhaust and i removed it straight away, but i see why the prevous owner put it on there for now smileys/smiley9.gif
Dont think its anything in paricular, it might just be to do with the materials used in the interior of the sax that build up an electric charge on you when driving then of course you get a shock when you get out and touch the ground smileys/smiley2.gif

lol maybe ;) must be to do with the materials used in the interior that create such a powerful charge tho, either that or somewhere in every single saxo in the world there is a wire thats touching the floor pan or something smileys/smiley5.gif

yep maybe thats it:
bit of " smileys/smiley2.gif " in the car + racing buckets = Ouch, elctric shock
The way to beat that is just make sure your missus gets outta the car first, then she'll end up getting the shcok smileys/smiley17.gif

lol.. i was gona post sumthign bout this the other day coz it was startign to piss me off.. nearly everytime i get out the car i get a shock.. i think it may be sumthgin 2 do with the matts.. as when you driving your feet are rubbing on the matts ect causing static.. and then when u get out and touch the metal u get a shock.. im now opening the door and then closing it by touching the glass as it does piss me off.. smileys/smiley19.gif

i did get it a lot from my ex's car. i found a way of combatting it - but you have to remember to do it everytime you get out.
i used to make sure i was touching the car door (anywhere) before i put my foot on the floor. spose i was earting myself or something - seemed to work anyways smileys/smiley17.gif

This is untrue!
I was honestly going to post about this recently. My car does this to me everytime I get out. Doing my nut in!!
Could it be something to do with power cables for amps in the boot?? Or shit earthing?
Mine does it no matter what im wearing.
Also the guy who invented those static strips was sued for loads cos they dont work, will try to find something on it.

it can be happening due to the weather!
alot of heat builds up and the air is warm with alot of friction, etc...
it only happens to me when it is a really hot day outside and my car is dirty!
if it was to do with the earth cables not right you would have 12 volt battery power going straight through you!
the reason it seems very strong is because the car has a big charge built up and is looking to release. as soon as you step onto the ground touch the car all of that energy is immediately rushed through you!

maybe to stop this shocking problem we need less friction and more rubber - i think its the mats they have a lot of nylon in them and rubber mats is wot we need or rubber boots or maybe rubber gloves wud do the trick - shocking - i do suffer too

Yep i think Mark has cracked it here - seems like its the matts with all the plasticy nylon in them that builds up the static smileys/smiley5.gif
