Right just received possibly the most gheyest email ever...

'There is a debate raging within the University (or more accurately, within FEPS [Faculty of Engineering and Practical Science]) about the University's intention to replace all blackboards in teaching rooms on campus with whiteboards. There are many academics in FEPS who feel strongly that blackboards provide a better teaching experience for students, for a number of different reasons.

If you wish to support them, could you please let me know why you prefer academics to use blackboards. However, if you wish the academics wouldn't use blackboards, then please also let me know why. Please could you let me know asap so I can add this to the feedback I am collating, on behalf of FEPS, in response to the University's proposal.'

Personally I couldn't give a flying fuck.

but might as well ask what everyone prefers...

Say that you took offence to the e-mail and thought it seams racist as such, defining the colours etc, and the popularity of one colour over the other

Greyboard.

EDIT: And when they want to write onit, they sellotape a black and white pen together, and then you can write on the board and everyone will be happy.

Whiteboards better than black. Don't like the scratchy chalks and chalk dust. Markers better tbh... not that I give a rats-ass about any of it but hey...

Smartboards are shit. Took my a-level maths teacher ages to write stuff. Pure crap.

Whiteboards are ok but the spray on cleaner for them stinks and makes everyone cry.

Blackboards.. well you can't see whats being wrote on them so what's the point?
