it looks perfect leave it alone and revel in some improved handling

i do like that a lot. sits very nicely indeed.
however, the majority of saxos that i have seen lowered tend to have the front a little higher than the rear (like mine). in this case, it appears to be the opposite.

thats the way it should be, rear slightly higher than the front, if both were lowered the same amount then leave it, you will notice a huge difference if the rear is lower than the front and its not a good difference

damo.. ur car sits higher at the rear than the front... or it does in the pics i have seen of it.

thanks for comments...just wasn't sure on what to do with it!
must admit the car does handle amazing now..the springs are a top job! i'll get a better picture tomorrow of it up close to the front wheel!

remember the springs will settle over time so may lower a little more, honestly leave it you would regret getting it lower (from a handling point of view)

ye might do just as you say and let the springs settle in and loosen up a bit!
handling is superb and i know if i go lower then it won't handle as well with other springs so thats the good point about it lol!

mine sits lower on the back than the front. trust me. that is why i am thinking about going down another 10mm on the front.

what exactly does it do to the handling? does it make the car slide out or steering lighter?
Scott
24th May 2005, 05:52
by having the rear lower you completely fuck up the balance of the car, i.e. more chance of lift off over steer and the rear deciding to try and over take the front also you will notice the front being lighter

dont sound good! thats the main reason why i took it to a company was so i wouldn't mess the car up..as suspension plays one of the most vital roles in handling (i feel anyway)!

i think on all of my previous modded saxo's, the rear has always sat nicer on the rear than the front. i think i may be purchasing some 50mm lowering springs soon.
by the way, with the torsion bar, if its on notches, then how many mm's is one notch!?!
Scott

the notches system is fucking bollocks. There is no such thing as an accurate "notche" system its all guess work and you run the risk of really fucking things up, if you do it the correct way then you cna lower the car to almost exaclty and height you want

ahhh i see. i always wondered that because some people say they have gone down 40mm on one notch, others have gone down 50mm on one notch, etc... and i cant make head nor tale of it.
im thinking about going for a complete new look to the car anyway sometime soon, so i will get it all done again then.
cars looking good mate smileys/smiley2.gif nice choice of wheels too!
get yourself a strut brace for the front, helps your car a little bit when cornering and looks nice when you pop your bonnet smileys/smiley2.gif smileys/smiley2.gif smileys/smiley4.gif
