My bro just bought one :y: it's all about the looks tbh. With the K-series engine they're un-reliable. Headgaskets are CR*P unless it's all ready been fitted with a land rover one. Electrics are crappy and are common faults too

Here's my bro's....

Lovin the yellow one mate very smart. I would have thought it would be alrite with it only being 2yr old and doing that many miles.

They tend to go at around 40k. No matter how well you treat it the headgasket will go. Something to do with the cooling system being shite and a ball bearing seizing up so the water/coolant stops flowing!!

Head gasket will only go if your a noob and thrash it with cold oil.

A mate owns a MG/ROVER garage, they depreciate SO fast. Not worth your money mate. If you sold it the next day you will loose about a grand, its that bad

oh yea forgot to say £6k is waaaaayyyy overpriced and silver is the wrong choice of colour imo. Probably worth £5500 MAX

EDIT: forgot to mention that the 1.4's are slow, if you're going to get one get the 160!!!

my mate just bought a 53 plate (mark1) in xpower grey, nice to look at and it handles pretty well but tbh everytime he goes to start it, it takes longer to start lol only done 29k and he paid 4K for it

and its 1.4 pretty nippy for a 1.4 too

Not fussed on either of those cars mate

...but if your buying 2nd hand which I'm guessing you more probably will be it might be a good idea to text the reg of the vehicle to 83600 costs a couple of quid and then you get a text back with the history of the car. (Crashes, stolen etc...)

I see so many of these about, like 20 to every Saxo I see in Northampton honestly............ look nice but aren't all that tbh, you could get something much better for that money mate.
