Saxo was broke into

my saxo was broke into last night, , stereo was knicked, just tried to start it after not touching it all day waiting for the police, and it wont start, lights go on etc but and engine tries to start but it dosnt fully start. what have they done, what should i look out for?

Edited it... my car is also making a weird electronic intermittent sound.
am i right in pressuming they tried to start it which has resulted in the sound and me not being able to start it?

Im guessing the people who did it wernt experts as it looks like they tried a couple of ways to open it. they also knicked a pretty cheap ripped coat and my MJ CD (the only cd in the car at the time lol), an alright pair of shoes and a completly knackered old phone of mine.

unluky mate happened to me before in college took my cd player and 30 quid but missed my ipod in the door an 100 quid in the ashtray. now need a new lock

Also do you reckon it would be worth claiming for? probably needs a new door panel (although it wouldn't be absolutely necessary) stereo, cost to get car running again, shoes (£60), coat (£50), and tbh i cant remember what else might of been in my car i will have to have a good think tomorrow.

I wouldn't bother, insurance is just a scam and you'll more than likely pay more than the items. Sorry to hear it dude, the more of these I see, the more I reckon I should depin and delock.

has the engine problem been sorted? have you double checked the ignition barrel to see that nothing has been cut/adjusted with a screwdriver
