Hello everyone. I've decided to make a start on a sound system for my VTS. For now I'm looking to install just a set of components up front with an amp. I may add a sub later, see how it sounds.

I've been considering these components:

And this amp:

Good match? or would you recommend something else for the money?
I want a good quality sound system. I'll be deadening the doors and other parts of the car thoroughly.
Thanks in advance.

looks like a good match to me :y: rms of the amp is 100watt at 4ohm. will be enough to pwer the 80watt rms of the components

Good match although what about this amp :

Then you have some money for some sound deadening

better to be giving the speakers a little more than the rms.. as said in the "power advice" sticky :y:

allthough id rather save my self a few quid on the amp you just suggested mick

Is that a good quality amp then? I'm mostly concerned with getting a good sound quality system. I've put money aside for deadening and I've got £400 to spend on an amp and comps, so really I'm wondering about opinions on combos around that price point.
Thanks to both for the advice I'll have a think then.

i think the diamond amp would be better.. if you can afford it, id pick the diamond. but me being tight id go for the audison :P lol

Ok fellas, thanks for the tips. Perhaps I'll go with the audison and save a few quid. I'm sure I'll find something else to spend the cash on:P
Cheers.

If you are willing to spend £400 on the front end you want to get the best that you can get. If I was choosing what to buy i'd be looking at the older model Audison SRX2s (http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/2894.html) while it's cheap and get the Rainbow SLC 230 (http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/rainbow-slc230-p-3851.html) components, if you had a bit more money to spend I would have suggested the DLS UP5s, but with the budget you have i'd take the Rainbow's over the DLS R5s through experience in regards to SQ.

Go careful with the gains on the amp and you'll get a very nice sound from them Rainbows.

Cheers mate gone for the audison/dls combo for now, as suggested i'll buy more sound deadening. Cars gonna weigh a ton by the time I'm finished!
