I have stock speakers in my front doors currently (6x9's on parcel shelf) and sub in boot with amp.
I would like to replace the front door speakers for between £40-£100.
What speakers would you recommend for good replacements?
ty :)

I am in the process of making a new mdf parcel shelf and have not cut the 6x9 holes yet.

so just front speakers and sub in boot? I have an amp and active sub in the boot currently.
I have alpine CDA-9812RB 60Wx4 so is fairly capable, and a not so expensive kenwood amp which is in the boot and FLI 12" sub plus pioneer 6x9's for parcel shelf.
I know the sub isnt that great, but it does vibrate my hair and seat (but I would like more bass!) Is it worth replacing the stock speakers in the back?
So many questions!!

nah..
good set up in a saxo (unless your into competition) is:
front components (in your case, the hertz ones) run off a decent amp that gives them correct rms
then:
sub in the boot, run off an amp giving it correct rms..
you could use the kenwood amp to power your speakers?, as i assume the fli sub, is run off a fli active amp

yup the fli sub is active so has its own amp
the kenwood amp is 4 channel and the hu has a half-decent amp in it also. seems a shame to only use 2 channels where there is ample power to host another 2 speakers somewhere in the back (and to make passengers in the rear enjoy the music !!)
i deffo dont do competition, but would like to be able to turn my stereo up full-wack (only goes to 25/35 currently with the stock speakers and that is amped only by the hu)
my car-audio knowledge is quite limited, but would it not be better to have some speakers putting out some mid-range somewhere other than ankle-level?

Thats why you buy comonents mate. They have a seperate woofer and tweeter, therefore the woofer can do all the mids and the tweeter can do the highs. Then the sub does the lows. Its a balanced set up and is proven to work well.
With regards to rear speakers, they just arent needed in a small car like a saxo. The sound stage is everywhere with sound bouncing off all different aspects of the car. All you need is those hertz comps, run off a littl 60rms amp and your away mate.;)

thanks for the advice. Gonna order those hertz now and pop em in. I guess I need to make a couple of holes in my door for the tweeters (and remove door panel to wire).
Should be fun....!!
