i was just woundering how hard is it to remove and put back on my vtr brake callipers so that i can spray them red! i dont want to paint them with a brush as it looks tackey! any help welcome!!! :y:

not hard at all mate, get the front up on some stands, remove the caps to reveal torx/allen bolts, loosen them and basically thats it

when te bolts are rmoved you will probablies will have to push them out with a screwdriver too mate, they seem like there still unscrewing but they are all the way out just use a flat head screwdriver and slide them out and then just pull the caliper away from the carrier and disc

Don't know if its just the desire mk2 calipers or what, but when i tried to take my front ones off to replace the brakepads, they where held on by 5 sided bolts. be careful of this, i nearly rounded mine off untill i realised they where 5 sided.

Also, don't forget heat resistant spray paint mate :y:

you sure you took the caliper bolts off and not the carrier bolts???

and heat resistant paint is necessary hammerite is what i used on my vtr calipers when i had them, do it over a weekend and leave them to cure they should be fine
