You are gonna need some flexible piping at the correct bore and some type of bracket to mount the filter. You want to ideally mount it in between your battery and ht leads and you can use the existing cold air feed to supply the filter. Hope this helps!:y::drink:

In that case it's probably better spending that bit more and getting an air filter specifically for that car as it will have instructions with it on how to fit it. The one you have is just a universal filter and would take a bit of work to get it just right. Other than that I really don't know what to suggest except see if a mate fancies doin it for you!:y:

right u see the box at the top.. the air filter is attached underneath this. remove the pipin goin from the front of the bay to there.. and undo the 2 jubilee clips and pull it up and remove the old air filter, grab urself i think its 75mm pipin and attach it to the top box.. and then manoveur it to the front of the bay, where you can attach you air filter

then you can get a cold air feed so the air filter has constant supposidly cold air

Looks like a 1.1 engine?

I think you would need a mushroom filter that replaces the airbox and goes on top which corrects to the Throttle body.

well If you just put it on the end of the hosing it wont do a thing, you will just have the standard filter and that one, if you want any sort of "gains" you will need to get rid of the original airbox and housing and stick a mushroom filter on the top of the standard inlet.

You can use it only it would be like having a standard air filter, if you were to get a bolt on mushroom filter and ran a cold air feed to it, that would be much better!

sorry not posted on this thread in long time will get the pics of my air filter soon but whats the best way for it to give me good performance its in the standard housing of the airbox as my layout is different to the rest of you guys its a big long thing ans the filter fits in a circle box sorry if its confusing

If it's in the standard airbox doesn't the standard piping direct a cold air feed to it?

sammyd

put the standard airbox back on tbh mate. your not going to gain much on such a small engine...

you will get more heat soak then BHP

13th April 2009, 18:26
Cant you just take the original box off and place the filter in its place then get a CAF leading up to it

sammyd
13th April 2009, 18:28

I've got the same filter. (Well same shape and design). I've mounted it where the air filter box is. Made a small adjustment and hose clipped it into place. Tbf, not that much heat soak.

I need some ducting to go towards the front of the engine.
