Hi guys.

I am looking to do a tiny mod (well I think it should be tiny) on my alarm light.
My alarm/immo activation light is on when my ignition is on (anti-hijack). Normally that wouldn't be a problem, BUT I have changed the standard red LED to a bright blue flashing LED. During the daylight it is fine, but when driving in the night it is a total arse and makes driving a pain not a pleasure.
So what I was wanting was a way that when I turn my sidelights on, the alarm/immo activation light is not on - like a reverse relay or something?
Prefer something cheap that I can do with basic hand tools and basic parts.

Thank you

(Rep will be given)

You need I believe what is called a single pole, double throw switch/relay this could do it for you! It will switch the power from the alarm light to the sidelights.:y:

use a resistor to get a lower voltage into the led so its not as bright or wire the earth to a switched live and obviously have the live to a permanent live this way the led will go off when you turn the key to ignition :y:

Could even use a variable resistor to change the brightness if you want it bright still sometimes. Although you'd have to put it somewhere where you can actually change the resistance!

Well i wired it in to the back of my headunit;
One wite from the pernament live (memory wire), the other from the power wire (from the ignition).

And it works a treat
