ok, so i took my saxo to my drivin lesson yesterday, and after my lesson, i got in over my car, and i couldnt get it in gear, then when i tried startin it, it juttered forward, then i looked at the clutch, and notice it was loose, i was like oh fuck. and i was 15 miles from home, so me and my dad had 2 fone a taxi to pick us up, and while we were waitin for the taxi, my dad went into a garage close by and asked them to hav a look at it, to save us havin 2 tow it home. i got a fonecall this mornin for an approximate price, she was like, it will be £345. i was like OMG! i dont even know if its worth it, i bought it for £300!
im also low on cash :(
What do yous think?

if the clutch cable has snapped the pedal will more than likely be on the floor and if you press it it will fell as if there is nothing there.
get some one to sit in side and press the clutch while you look under the bonnet to see if its moving.
if it is the clutch it aint a quick job really mate and would cost abit, not quite 345 tho

just hope its the clutch cable as it only cost about a tenner and not that hard to fix

You really need to know what exactly is wrong with the car before you start handing your car and cash over.
If is the clutch cable, then the part is £10 and they would probably charge 30 mins labour to do it, although it takes less than 10 mins.
If it the actual clutch, then a replacement clutch is around £40. It would take me an afternoon to do, not sure how long it would take a garage tho, perhaps 3 hours.
