Was sitting in a que of traffic yesterday patiently waiting to join the M8 when a tipper lorry pulls up alongside me indicating because he wants into the lane i am in ( at the last minute), the que of traffic started moving so i moved forward so he could get in behind me, instead he just forced his way in on front and scraped along the side of my car, my rear bumper took a bump and its been disloged slightly, the rear drivers side arch is all scratched to fook, and along the side of my car is scratched :n: !!!
Bloody unbelievable, he didnt even stop either, i flashed him and tooted the horn and he just kept going ( possibly never saw me), but i took his reg plate and the company it was from and reported it to the police, whom are now investigating... has anything like this ever happened to anyone else on here??? Should i be expecting to get the car repaired at their expense???
Claim of their insurance. He won't give a shit, it's not his insurance which will be affected.
Guy at work had a tipper lorry reverse into his golf. Got sorted pretty quickly.
He probably didn't even feel it.
I'll never mess with a lorry, always let it go first as I don't want my car getting damaged.
It's there drivers fault, had a couple of trucks drive down our narrow street once, the first one hit our car and drove off, my mum stopped the second and got the company details, they had to pay for damages.

Yeah thats the plan.... but i typed the company name into google and didnt come up with a phone number or anything, also didnt have a phone number on the lorry so i cant get in touch with them, the police said they will be able to find them with the reg number, so should i be expecting them to sort everything? I have been told to go to the station with all my documents sometime next week...

tbh honest if the damage is less then £500 they may just do a cash settlement with you. reason being company insurance is so expensive it would be more worthwhile if they sent you the cash and be done with it. happened to me years ago but it went just over that limit.

have you phoned the place that the wagon was from? if you phone them then they should be able to say if its their wagon or not. they should also be able to prove that there wagon was not in the area if they didnt do it.
id also phone your insurance company aswell to let them know.
our excess at work for your wagons is £500, if any of our drivers cause £500 or more worth of damage to anything then we go through insurance but if not then we just pay for the damage

tbh mate i didnt want to mess with the lorry, the way he had stopped next to me, i thought it was his intention to move in behind me, but when the traffic started to move, so did he, so i moved forward a little and by the time i realised he was gonna cut in front, it was too late, i had to mount the kerb to stop any further damage... :n:

exactly when your in a massive lorry of the size they are, you wouldnt really feel a little knock like that.. and for messing with them
thats a NO NO! just let them go infront it aint worth the risk of them damaging your car
But claim off the companys insurance there get it sorted out

i was at a round about a couple of years ago and a lorry went straight into the back of me.
i pulled over and it just went around me!
I took his reg and it was only a council lorry!
All got sorted out tho.
A mate of mine also was driving in the middle lane of a motorway and a lorry pulled straight into the side of him, and carried on.
Luckily a woman who was behind the lorry got his reg and pulled over with my friend so that all got sorted too.
Thinking about it, my dad had his bumper pulled off by a lorry and the driver didnt notice he was dragging it along with him.
Lorry drivers dont care, whoever they work for get the bill, their insurance takes no knocks, a car will always come off worse...

Yeah but i dont know how to get in touch with the company... and therefore cant get in touch with their insurance...thats my problem, so should i just wait for the police to investigate it and take it from there??? I have been told to go to the station on tuesday to see the outcome...

head down on tuesday and it should get sorted, it will be classed as a hit and run by the police so with the reg they will be able to find the owners of the vehicle.

Lorries are mofos, the amount of times they cut the roundabout when your on the inside is scary. I've had to break a could 5/6 times because of lorries doing that, but at the end of the day, you're always going to come off worse :(
You got his reg, gave it to the police mate, trust them to sort it... they will track him down and most likely put you in contact with their insurance, or do it for you. :y:
