right im thinking about getting a new car as some of you will know.
im got it down to a golf or an audi a3 :p but dont know what to get
the 1.8T or a 1.9tdi :panic:
for a a 150/130 tdi golf its nearly £500 cheaper to insure than a 1.8T GTI but the 0-60 etc or the same +/- .0s :geek:
but this is what i want to know the most what would win a 1/4mile a 1.8T golf or a TDI golf both with lets say 180 bhp each ( because i heard you can get a tdi to about 180 just with a re-map:oops:)
so what do you think would win ?

the older ones a 1999-2000 one but like the golfs more

im just prefer the badge tbh, even tho theyre similar.
so what are you saying? the 0-60 times are the same for the petrol and diesel?
the diesel should be cheaper to run too right.
Wouldn't be much in it. Diesel for economy, petrol for performace IMO...

but apparently it's not fun to go around them in a golf.

anyway i think diesel would have the edge on the drag strip, mainly because of the torque it would be high and as a result would pull strong when turbo is spinning---more so than the petrol.

tbh mate i dont really know what i want just now :panic: i like the look of the golfs etc but they are more "cruising " cars.
i have also been thinking of getting a toyota starlet gt turbo they dont look the best but their fast and can be made to handle well and a civic vti 1.6 the hatchback one .
Have been looking at these cars for a while but theres not many of them about within the distance im willing to travel:homme: and i dont want a vts or 106 because i have had a saxo and want something different.

It took months of careful calculations and experimenting to work it out actually. ;)
