1.4 was too slow, 1.6 was perfect for me, not too fast so insurance is cheap and its got just enough kick

Looks smart.
Was looking at Golfs, 1.6 MK4s, before buying the saxo. But fun factor won over practicality.
But yeah.. Colour coded and some 17" VW alloys. Would look very tidy!

Nice one, not sure about a 4 door car though but it is practical, whap a nice set of alloys on it, that'll bring it up a lot - keep it clean aswell :)

my mate has the same car, well done, brilliant purchase. How much did it set you back? He bought one for £2900 with 49k.
Dont know if prices are different up here. He is the same as you about modding it. But hes got golf gti rims on it and colour coded it. Hes got it lowered too, wont do anything else to it. You should do the same!

Depends, anything from 7-13k.
I am very tempted to go to renault and see what deal they can give me on a brand spanker 197cup.
Wont be getting one for a month or two yet tho. Going to get money on my side so i dont skint myself getting one.
If i can get a good deal might order a 58plate and get it in Sept. That gives me plenty of time to get the cash
Ruddy
12th June 2008, 10:36
r32 wil cost mega bucks in fuel mate. Anni ftw. Dont get a spanker 197 you will lose too much bees an honey. Chances are the golf wil hold its value better too. How much can you pick up a 172 for now?
Clouds_mate
12th June 2008, 10:39
172 40ish on the clock about 4.5k. Really like them too.
Cheaper the car from my budget the sooner i can get one. Guna call my insurance company later and get a few quotes on different cars.

Im heading in the direction of well built german cars....BMW is the way.
Reading some reviews on Ibiza Turbos and the headgasket is prone to go on those things.....and I want a car more reliable than my paper saxo

Get the anniversary version mate. Such a shame to see the depreciation on brand new cars.
Plus those golfs are 170 break standard yeh? Bit of a remap and it'll take you even further + german build quality + those lovely chrome wheels.

Its the coil's (seperate not just in one pack like a Saxo) that go often on the Ibiza Turbos.
