motorbike helmets (ie with the gold sticker?) will be fine. If anything, they will want a BS type A approved one and will have a blue triangle sticker on the side.

I can just imagine loads of noise. Looking and its a 5 door saxo diesel breaking the land speed of 27mph flat out up a hill.

Hitting the apex on the corner and tipping on its roof.......

isnt the track session 30mins? Doubt it. Probs wont get out of the pit lane. Will either run into the back of someone or just run out of time.

If you want one for track use then why not ask the man behind the counter in the helmet shop when you go in?

Failing that my dad has a simpson outlaw helmet and simpson helmets are for track use although he uses it when he rides his lambretta

Viper

i asked the guy at the shop. but it was a motorbike shop, and he didnt know what i would need for a car on track.

He was a special boy aswell.

Check my thread again mate.
I got mine from here....
http://www.bikersworldonline.com/storefrontprofiles/deluxeSFshop.aspx?Helmets%20-%20Lazer&sfid=102838&c=710736

Any full-face helmets are kosher at UK tracks and zee Ring ;)

Id go for either a Lazer (like mine) or Nitro etc.
Offer the best designs for the price and are still really comfortable and protective.

Loads on offer from around £35+ and Lazer are still running a free delivery offer with their helmets on that site dude :y:

Heres a thought for you from an MSA scrutineer who recently inspected my car at my last sprint. He said " your overalls, helmets, gloves etc etc are there to give you protection for the first 10 seconds of your crash. There will be no marshalls there within that time to drag you out of the car, your on your own, in a car that potentially could be on fire. Now tell me you think your current kit is good enough"

Im seriously thinking of upgrading my entry level OMP helmet which is polycarb and not nomex lined so offers ferk all in the way of fire protection. I used to ignore the advice "buy the best helmet you can afford" but after speaking with real people who have seen bad things happen, ive changed my mind.

you need a faily decent one

....my ped one was 200 and it only tops 50mph...cant put a price on your life

if your racing once then an ok one should hopefully do it if your racing again and again you need one thats more reinforced with kevlar built in for alot of protection

and dont buy second hand you dont know if its been dropped and it usually tends to slightly mould to the users head in the iner layer

Viper

one thing that i had thought is that i wouldnt need to get an expensive one because i will be in a car and it would mainly be protecting my head from bashing against the side of the car, as opposed to being on a bike where your head is likely to be smashed against a curb of the road...
