Hey all hoping someone can help me :D
i got some scratch damage on the front right bumper and a big scratch damage on the back left bumper
Im tempted to spray these myself and color code the bumpers while im there considering garages wants roughly 250 to do the lot and fix the scratches
so im tempted to spray the whole bumpers..
Any tips? and best way to do it?
Thanks
p.s will it look shit? lol

I hate color coding with a passion tbh, the only nicely color coded saxos are black tbh, ya need the bumpstrips there to break the lines of the car up. I know what i mean lol, just get ya scraches repaired and have done.

well tbh this is how i would do it. take bumper off, apply paint stripper with a brush.
leave it for the morning or wat ever then begin sanding probably with 120grit? working uyp to 2000ish wet and dry :y: then use primer about 4 nice even coats and then spray probably looking at 6 coats?
probably will take you 3-4days tbh..
good luck if your on ok money id let the garage do it otherwise diy tbh its not that hard really.
paint and primer will be around £30 though i would have thought =/

as for the bump strips i can see them being a pain in the arse as alot of patience and masking will be required. good luck anyway i think i would rather do the scratchs ur self and dw about colour code.

Or you could remove the bumpstops?? As written above.. If you are doing them yourself(Which i will be doing:But i have got the proper equipment) then depending how deep the scrathes are try not to go too course on the wet/dry. 400 is a nice number and ending 1200 ftw. good luck.
p.s before and after pics????

If possible at all it may seem obvious but try to do the spraying in your garage things like dust & the wind will ruin the finish. Also before spraying wet the floor of the garage to keep the dust down.

top tip that, and yeh use 400 grit to start off with but if scratchs are still visable keep working your way down the grit :fcuk:

If you wanna do something different,
Instead of colourcoding, do it black gloss.
Will look good imo.

Side strips would look good dude.
As i said earlier you can do it for much less and it really isnt that hard.
They sell the icelandic grey paint colour in Halfrauds which i hate to say, but it is a good match and Pred/Yerdusk/David i think have used it...moonstone something iirc.?
I'll lend you the filler and a sanding block to get the shape perfect then a few coats of white primer as your respraying a lighter colour and leave this to dry for a few hours minimum.
3/4 good coats of colour
Same with lacquer and spend the time to lightly sand between coats and get the prep the best you can :y:

Not hard to do mate just time consuming.
Worth spending the effort to do a proper job though :y:

I might practise on one of my spaxo bumpers. I have a compressor need a new air gun might give it a go as my corsa bumper needs spraying as i scratched it. Its metallic black though would this make it look funny if i sprayed the bumper?
Trying to find a price of a mate and see what it would cost.
