So you have only got the standard set up at the minute??
http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/6707.html
This amp is a 4 channel, therefore you can bridge 2 of the channels for the sub, and the other 2 channels can be used to power some front component speakers, like these...

Very good set up for cheap. JBL stuff is great when on a budget, or when you have unlimited money for that matter. They are just great!:D
And those components will give you very clear midbass and vocals!
Its all good mate!

You either disconnect them, or you turn the f+r fader on the head unit to front.
In other words, you dont want back speakers mate. They will mess with the sound staging, and will screw up the quality.

Well when its running standard gear you are probably best to run them all, as none of the speakers are up to much, therefore you want as much volume as you can get! lol
But when you get components these will fill the car with sound, so then you want to be disconnecting them!:y:

Yes mate! Correct! Bargain eh?:P
Just buy a little 50-60rms amp and all will be good!
No need for a sub with components really, if they are set up well that is, and you just want quality:y:

doesnt matter which way you face sub.. i have mine facing backwards as you described. because imp facing it into the back of the seat will muffle it by the rear seat.. either way youd be best to properly soundproof your car
no you wont need a power cap
so long as your amp has sufficent air supply it will be ok, otherwise will overheat
and the amp gives 50 watts for each component. and with the 3rd n 4th channel bridged, will give 150 watt to your sub

that doesent sound like alot... Sub says its 100
And im only gonna get 15
Outta it...

150 actually...
thats a lot more than you think
plus nobodys stopping you from upgrading when you have more cash.. in a few months, sell that amp, and buy a more powerful 1.. thats what ive done

Quite simply no im afraid mate.
When they say 400 watts, thats peak power, which to be honest, means naff all. You have a look at the RMS power of that package and it will be nothing like 400 watts! More like 70-80rms, wheres as the JBL gto amp will do 2x50rms and 220watts for the sub:y:
Btw, this JBl amp is 600 watt max! Not that it matters! lol:P

That package is stil good, however, the enclosure is of a bandpass configuration, which basically means it will have a higher peak than both sealed or ported enclosures, however, they can lack musicality.
But for the money i wouldnt be complaining! Lol
And that enclosure is gonna be well made due to it being a JBL box!:y:
