My fuel Gauge seems to have stopped working but luckily i found out the other day that the fuel light still works, i remember someone saying before it could be the needle motor as the rest of the guages work, how hard are these to replace and how much are the motor's do Citroen sell them whats involved? any soldering?

Depends what phase saxo you've got. I've got a phase 1 vtr. I tried to change the bulbs in the dash from standard green to ice blue and totally messed my dials up by taking the needles off of the gauges. I had to buy a totally new set of dials with similar mileage to sort the problem out. My advice, don't DIY your dials. Phase 2 dials are different, all the lights and gauges run off circuit boards, maybe you could try DIY. Hope this helps.

The dials havent been touched its a mk2 2002 VTS, it was fine but now its not i remember reading there is a needle motor you can replace, i know it was on here but can't seem to find the thread! Dont really want to replace the clocks as they are still good clocks apart from the fuel guage and the fact they display the correct milage.

If it is the needle motor then it will need to be soldered into the circuit board, have you actually taken the clocks out and had a look yet?

When you get a chance then remove the clocks/dials and use a multimeter to test the motor, if it has gone be careful when soldering in the new one, as it doesn't take much to strip the circuit board. If your not happy about doing it then I would suggest contacting an auto electrician local to you! hope this helps!
